June 30, 20223 yr I find it astonishing that songs lower down the list actually get played more than once a day, when they've literally got THOUSANDS of other hits to choose from. Why do they feel the need to choose from such a small selection?
June 30, 20223 yr I totally forgot 'The Other Side' from Jason Derulo even existed! I quite liked it in 2013, 'Teenage Dream' rip-off that it was.

June 30, 20223 yr Author Heart are a little better on their decade specific stations in not letting too many repeats through but maybe they should learn a lesson from Planet Radio (Absolute specifically) and have some sort of 'no repeat guarantee'
June 30, 20223 yr It isn't even as if there haven't been any recent Heart-friendly hits. Cat Burns, Sam Ryder, George Ezra and Lady Gaga would have slotted in nicely on their playlist. Maybe they'll add those in the next few months lol. Yeah, I could understand it if the songs that they did play were all genuine monster hits, but what are they doing still playing "Sweet Talker"? And the Lost Frequencies track isn't super Heart-friendly. I get that their listeners like familiarity and safe songs but I cannot understand why they don't change it up more than they do.
June 30, 20223 yr They only started playing 'Sweet Talker' pretty recently, lord knows why they took so long to decide to play that as the decision clearly wasn't based on it becoming a big hit.
June 30, 20223 yr That Guetta/Newman one is most baffling to me, it barely made an impact last year and isn't exactly the sort of thing they'd usually fall over themselves for.
June 30, 20223 yr It's because it's a Whitney cover. They still play 'Take Me To The Clouds Above' by LMC/U2 a lot too which uses the same sample.

And the Lost Frequencies track isn't super Heart-friendly. I get that their listeners like familiarity and safe songs but I cannot understand why they don't change it up more than they do. Surely, it wouldn't hurt for them to mix the playlist up a bit. For example, there are a few artists out there which would fit Heart's format (e.g, Tom Grennan, Cat Burns, Lauren Spencer-Smith, George Ezra, Joji). Don't the presenters get bored from hearing the same 50 songs every day? Edited April 9, 20251 yr by montyj
June 30, 20223 yr Author Heart must pay really well :kink: I still wonder why Dev left Radio 1 to join Heart of all places
June 30, 20223 yr Heart must pay really well :kink: I still wonder why Dev left Radio 1 to join Heart of all places Yeah, I remember being totally baffled by that!
June 30, 20223 yr Think Dev knew he was out the door in the next Radio 1 shakeup so probably jumped before he was pushed.
June 30, 20223 yr I feel like Jason Derulo will get back on their chart with "ridin solo" It feels very heart radio :D
July 5, 20223 yr Author Heart additions: Jax Jones feat. MNEK - Where Did You Go? Lizzo - About Damn Time
July 10, 20223 yr Heart additions: Jax Jones feat. MNEK - Where Did You Go? Lizzo - About Damn Time Also, Joji's Glimpse of Us.
July 10, 20223 yr Also, Joji's Glimpse of Us. On Heart? Is it the original or a remix version do you know?
July 10, 20223 yr Also, Joji's Glimpse of Us. Really? Wow that's actually commendable for Heart if true, they're only a few days behind Radio 1 on this.
