Charli and JADE top 14!!

Chappell also #4 in the albums! :cheer: the girls are doing it!!

GLB for #1!!

I loved 'Espresso' for a while, but I am beyond bored of it now ngl

Yeah same - a couple of months ago I was obsessed.

But Espresso, PPP, Austin, A Bar Song and a number of other songs in the top 10 need to leave.... make way for a Brat Invasion

Edited August 2, 20242 yr by ElectroBoy

GLB for #1!!

fingers crossed !!!

'Austin' getting a new peak after all this time!

I wasn’t expecting Kisses to go top 10 but glad it has

So many better dance tracks than this deserved to blow up instead, but at least it's better than something like NewEra.

Kisses is definitely one of the best examples of generic dance music, here for it being top 10 tbh x

Biography

On 1999's “My Name Is,” Eminem entered the public imagination with a mandate: “God sent me to piss the world off.” From his provocative early work to the redemption narratives of 8 Mile and beyond, he’s more or less stayed true to form, holding a mirror to the American psyche—and his own—with an incisiveness rarely matched before or since. Raised in working-class Detroit, the artist born Marshall Mathers in 1972 got his start as a battle rapper, reaching the ears of the then-CEO of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine, and future mentor Dr. Dre; only months before, he had been fired from his job as a line cook, where he worked nearly 60 hours a week to support his infant daughter—an origin story that set the tone for his career. Dark, funny, and frequently violent, his breakthrough albums (1999’s The Slim Shady LP and 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP) established him as pop culture’s premier bogeyman, a bleach-blond devil traumatized by circumstance who rapped about killing everyone from his mentor to his mother with such ferocity and wit that you’d almost forget he had the wrong idea. The result was a sound that reached beyond hip-hop into the heart of suburban America: rap not as social reportage but as primal-scream therapy; punk for a generation addled by reality TV. Even as he's matured—fame, stability, sobriety, an Oscar (for the 8 Mile centerpiece, “Lose Yourself”)—he's retained his edge, taking shots at politics and society (2017’s Revival) with a frustration that's bordered on relentless. Still, however tough he's been on the world, Em has also tended to reserve his harshest words for himself, refracting his insecurities—about his family, his music, his cultural relevance—into verses that have only made him seem more human. Kamikaze saw him once again embracing his dark humor and knack for piling syllables. With production from Tay Keith and collaborations with Royce Da 5'9" ("Not Alike") and Joyner Lucas ("Lucky You"), the 2018 LP lives at the intersection of the new school and the retro. Em continued embracing the new generation with 2020's Music To Be Murdered By, an album featuring appearances from the late Juice WRLD, Young M.A and Don Toliver, cementing his status as a rap elder statesman who still had the tenacity of an up-and-comer. - Apple Music

'Austin' top 5 ?! :o

So long 'Austin' having the most total or consecutive weeks Top 10 without going Top 5 - those records return to Michael Bublé's IBTLALLC and Maroon 5 / Cardi B's collab respectively.

Kisses sounded good

can't believe Austin is top 5 after all these months :o

Shame Houdini didn’t help Abracadabra get a chart comeback

Biography

Dasha is happy to align herself with legions of country artists before her time when she describes her music as “three chords and the truth.” As traditional as the Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s approach may be, however, she also understands the cultural impact of a viral moment. All it took was a line dance to set her on a path toward stardom. “Austin,” the first single from Dasha’s second album, “What Happens Now?,” is a delightfully catchy ode to a lover who just won’t commit. It’s also proven to be social media gold, catapulting to the top of Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart thanks to a plethora of line-dancing reinterpretations. Though Dasha says “Austin” was always her album’s “north star,” it was recorded after she and co-writers Cheyenne Rose Arnspiger, Kenneth Travis Heidelman and Adam Wendler scrapped a different track, “Play Dumb,” which just didn’t fit her vibe. - HuffPost

Edited August 2, 20242 yr by DJ Cheeky Magpie

I'm so here for Austin being top 5 tbh *.*

I move on from Austin

Austin is Top 5 after 17 weeks in the Top 10 - is this a new record?

Well done on Top 5 and all that but can't help the feeling this is a little artificial with so many songs ahead on ACR - like if something keeps avoiding long enough it could end up at #1 with the same sales.
