Posted August 5, 20242 yr This could be another chart hit for PAWSA, following PICK UP THE PHONE peaking at #49 last month. TOO COOL TO BE CARELESS is a cover of Don't Look Any Further by Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett from the 80s which didn't set the chart alight in the UK when it was released (#45) but faired better in the 90s when covered by M People. It has also been sampled a lot on other various tracks by the likes of SG Lewis, Mary Mary, Aloe Blacc and Snoop Dogg. It's definitely recognisable, even if you weren't sure where you've heard it before or what the original track is. Today, PAWSA's version sits at #99 in the chart update. LhxjP0hsQE8
August 5, 20242 yr I remember Don't Look Any Further by M People as it was a dance number 1 on the excellent 90s Dance Number 1s thread http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=5209082 I still prefer the M People version to this but this has a good bassline to it. October 4, 20241 yr Wasnt sure about the vocal effects at first but I like it now. The return of prominent bass guitar sounds to a new dance song too, haven't heard that in a while!
