Good to see another certification but like many of their other songs it feels like they should have more platinum singles from the earlier days and i would think relight my fire for example will have a very very long wait to make platinum.

Agree 100%. I know Take That sold well for the times and far fewer songs reached Platinum but there are so many of their '90s songs which should be higher than they are.

Pray still not being Platinum is the big one for me.

BLACK SABBATH’s TONY IOMMI Lands UK Top 40 Hit With ROBBIE WILLIAMS Collaboration

By Editorial Team on June 5, 2025Heavy Metal, News

Recently announcing his new album, Britpop, Robbie Williams launched the first song from the album, “Rocket”, which features Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi on guitar. Stream the single here, and watch the music video below.

Forbes Senior Contributor, Hugh McIntyre, is reporting that Tony Iommi scores a hit song in his home country of the United Kingdom this week by teaming up with Robbie Williams

Iommi earns a Top 40 hit on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts this frame. “Rocket” opens at #34 and #36, respectively, on those tallies, becoming a Top 40 bestseller in the nation.

It appears that “Rocket” is Iommi’s first solo hit on both of those rankings. As a member of Black Sabbath, he’s only reached the lists once, as “Paranoid” spent one frame on the rosters in August 2022. Of course, it’s worth mentioning that these tallies didn’t exist during the heyday of the heavy metal act.

Iommi has landed more than one solo placement on the Official Rock & Metal Albums roster with his solo collections, but those titles didn’t produce any hit songs across the Atlantic.

A “Rocket” behind-the-scenes video features a clip where Williams and Iommi talk about their collaboration.

Explaining how the collaboration came to be, Williams says, “Well, Karl [Brazil], who is my drummer, is a Brummie. He’s friends with the royalty here in Birmingham. I’ve got this track ‘Rocket’, which needed a bit of poke, which you [Iommi]… it’s my honour that you said yes and have come to give it a bit of poke. And here we are, that’s it.”

Iommi responds: “No, I like it. It’s really good.”

Britpop, the brand new album from Robbie Williams, will be released this fall and is available for pre-order here.
