Im more suprised at the locations tbf some very random choices id never think to host 😮

A lot of the crowd didn't really know who Sabrina was then.

I thought Raye would be #1 she's usually the most critically acclaimed.

horsegiirL has just cancelled, I nearly bought tickets a couple of weeks ago as realised I could get time off work for it I would've bought them just to see her so glad I decided against it now.

I think something is going on with Mollie King behind closed doors. She hasn't been on air since the Sunday of Big Weekend and wasn't on air with Matt Edmondson last week. Matt had holiday booked this week and it was supposed to be Mollie and Lauren Layfield, Lauren flew solo yesterday and indicated that Mollie would be back today but she wasn't and the rest of this week's schedule on BBC Sounds says "Lauren Layfield sits in". Irrelevant but Lauren mentioned she could go into labour on air!

Lauren is due to give birth next week or something isn't she?

It could be a number of things with Mollie, including just a simple unexpected illness or perhaps a private family matter. Hope she's okay

Lauren hasn't given specifics but am very very surprised she's still on air. Yeah I hope Mol is okay as well.

Ah yes, she said "arrives in June" on Instagram, but she's right that it could happen on air or even not meaning they'd probably struggle to get cover on the show. Quite surprising she's even in really, guess Sam and Danni or Emil weren't available.

id hope it’s not something life threatening with mol. But having lauren sit in while shes in danger of going into labour at any moment is so unpractical and unprofessional when radio 1 have so many presenters on standby? (like danni, shanequa, maia, lau redfern and emma millen)

Danni is on holiday so was not an option, I guess it is unprofessional in a way but I'm sure the BBC did their checks before putting her on air. I guess Sam has been brought in to co-host in the event of Lauren going into labour. I've seen on another forum that Lauren's maternity leave will be unpaid as she is freelance so from her point of view it's probably nice to get some extra cash in her pocket while she is fit to do so.

Yeh my experience of pregnancy is that they can take maternity a few weeks before to help them relax for the baby coming but they can work right up to the last day especially if it’s a job where they can sit down etc. I’d say it’s mentally difficult as well with the anxiety of what’s to come. But I’m sure R1 have some producer on stand by for all shows anyway.
