Ageism but they are not even 40 yet.

Have the moved Bruno/Gaga to R2 as artists?

We don't know yet! Both got playlisted by Radio 1 with their last eras.

I'll be very surprised if they don't playlist it though.

Don’t they decide the playlists earlier in the week? Gaga and Bruno only posted about the song yesterday so maybe it was too late as the playlist was created already? IIRC this happened not too long ago with a surprise release song
^but it was added to R2, sure they have a similar cut off

regarding Chappell, really hope they wait a bit and go for a brand new single

rather than re-releasing Hot To Go.

Brand new single vs re-releasing the 8th single from your debut that is a million years old, that's a no-brainer

The thing with HOT TO GO! is it is "new" to a lot of people even if it was released originally in August 2023. Having said that, it would've made sense to capitalise on it and have a sort of joint effort in terms of radio spins along with Good Luck, Babe! Dean is the only DJ to acknowledge the track so far but I didn't listen enough over the week to determine if he was calling it her next single or not. Tune of the Week always feels a little bit ambiguous in confirming whether or not something is going to be a single as it's the DJ's choice but I'd imagine they are pushed to choose from a selection of tracks the producers want to test out.

i mean, Good Luck Babe is the 1st single from album 2, the next natural move should be a brand new single and then album 2

not a re-release of the 8th single from album 1... well, in my opinion, it would be a regression

Think R2 is maybe a day later?

Agree with Lewis are Chappell the older song isn’t old to many as she’s only broken through in the last few months.

And yet it would feel relatively recent compared to Taylor making the 4 year old 'Cruel Summer' a single lol

Oh btw I'll be away again on Friday (my first ever visit to South America so I'm very excited) so would someone mind posting the playlist in my absence?

Bruno and Gaga have both probably been playlisted by Radio 2 for ages, probably as long as 10 years ago. Lots of artists are playlisted by both simulatenously, especially when they make AC-leaning music.

Noah Kahan and Teddy Swims are on the Radio 2 playlist this year, I doesn't mean they aren't contemporary, it just means they're crossover artists, which is a good thing really.

Radio 1 have chosen to not playlist Gaga so many times that them doing that again wouldn't surprise me. She's been around for 15 years and isn't British.

Did she make it a single? Thought it had just blown on tiktok and thats it

Yeah it did start off going viral but I'm pretty sure the label then designated it as a single

Interesting - although I'm not convinced they'll add it to the main playlist. Was 'Woman's World' anyone's TOTW?
