Ya i think the same or as i have often said i still think if the song was used as a sample or feature by some other artist it could get the song some attention that its missed out on.

Yes! That’s be great.

I was thinking maybe a remix, but I wouldn’t want it to tarnish the original. Even though I know I could just ignore it. Haha.

Taking a slight side step from my singles rank to reveal my top 12 favourite Kylie Minogue album tracks & b-sides.. For honesty and clarity purposes I have heard all of Kylie's studio albums with the exception of Kylie Christmas, but when it comes to the b-sides I have only heard a hand full. As they are not on streaming and I don't have/know a comprehensive list if all the b-sides I haven't heard them all.

I'll be doing them in two posts, the first will be ranked equal #7 as at this stage I can't separate them. I've found it easier to pick my top six, so $6-#1 in the following post will be in order from #6 to #1. As I really enjoyed the other 6 songs I thought it good to include them.

Album Tracks & B-sides Honourable Mentions
Fragile
Like A Drug
Sleeping With The Enemy
Speakerphone
Disco Down
I Miss You

The greatest thing to come from my listen through back at the start of the year was discovering so many hidden gems that didn't actually get the single treatment and would have probably always remain unheard for me if I didn't do this. Fragile is one that I've really taken a liking to and highlights how strong an album Fever is when songs like this weren't singles. Like A Drug and Speakerphone whilst feel very 2007 are two of my favourite songs from X and Sleeping With The Enemy is my favourite song from Kiss Me Once. Both of Disco Down and I Miss You were pleasant surprise from both the Light Years and Kylie listen throughs.

Album Tracks & B-sides Honourable Mentions
#6 Made Of Glass
#5 Fever
#4 Tightrope
#3 Nothing To Lose
#2 I'm Over Dreaming (Over You)
#1 So Now Goodbye

Unlike the previous 6 songs I had a much easier time ranking these. Made Of Glass is a brilliant little pop song and I can't believe it was relegated to b-side status on the Giving You Up single. I can still remember this being played regularly on Australian radio around the time Giving You Up was released. The title track of Kylie's 2001 album is next in Fever, this is another one that got a radio push in Australia so when it came to listening to Fever for the first time I was already familiar with this one/ The second Fever song of this section and third overall in the 12 is Tightrope, released as a bonus track for Fever or b-side for In Your Eyes depending on where you lived. This one instantly connected with me when listening to Fever for the first time and I've gone back to it several times since. Two songs from Enjoy Yourself feature at #3 and #2 in Nothing To Lose and I'M Over Dreaming (Over You), the former being another great late 80s PWL track and the latter being by far my greatest non single discovery of my Kylie 2024 journey. I absolutely love I'm Over Dreaming (Over You). Which means So Now Goodbye is my favourite Kylie album track or b-side and the only reason this wasn't the greatest discovery of my listen throughs was because my sister owned Light Years growing up and I can recall her playing this, so when I came back to Light Years more than two decades later it wasn't completely foreign to me.

I'm not sure what the forums consensus is on the majority of these 12 songs are, so I'm looking forward to the replies. :)

'So Now Goodbye' is one I've always liked but never really sought out in isolation when I wasn't playing Light Years through, until the last 4 years ago when I've really started to love it! I love the pure camo disco sensibility of it.

'Tightrope' easily should've been on the main editon of Fever instead of 'Give it to Me'.

'Made of Glass's is an utter masterpiece

These placings

#6 Made Of Glass I do like this, not in my big faves but i like it.

#5 Fever Great song, i dont love it as much as i did years ago but i still listen to it alot and enjoy it.

#4 Tightrope This is ok for me, not a song that springs to mind when i think of her music but its fine.

#1 So Now Goodbye A surprise number 1, nowhere even close for me and it falls into the the bottom category of songs on light years and thats an album i love but this and Koocachoo are the only 2 songs i skip.

Thanks Padamic_Tension! Great to see there’s at least a few you like on here! :)

Similarly with the singles I’m interested to see if this changes over time.

It will be interesting to see your ranking of the songs in a year's time to see how your rankings will change.

Thanks, there’ll definitely be changes. I’ve already started warming to a song from the bottom section of my list. I can see it making a reasonable leap.

2. Confide In Me

Taking out the #2 placing is Confide In Me. For me this has been the biggest grower out of all of Kylie Minogue's singles over the decades. It's one I don't have to many memories or any at all really from it's time of release, but I can remember it getting a few plays on music video shows around the time Ultimate Kylie was released in 2004. At first I wasn't a fan of it all but as the years have gone on it's become one of my all time favourite Kylie tracks. It marks such a departure from her PWL era and whilst its not that out and out pop we'd become use to it is an absolute stone cold classic for me. It's rocketed its way up my personal Kylie rankings over the last few years and I'm at the point now where I totally adore it. I'd guess that it's one of my most played Kylie Minogue songs of the year. Whilst I wasn't over keen on my first listen of the 1994 album Kylie Minogue it did have an absolutely stellar first two singles.

1. In Your Eyes

Perhaps a surprise and not a warmly received choice by many on here my #1 Kylie Minogue single is In Your Eyes. The second single from the 2001 album Fever hit the mark in every way it's predessor Can't Get You Out Of My Head didn't. I've loved this from first listen over 20 years ago now and it's probably the single most Kylie Minogue single I revisit the most. I can't quite describe what it is that I love about this so much that it elevates it above ever other single from Kylie Minogue, I just have this love for it. If I was to go out and do karaoke and had to choose a Kylie Minogue song to do it'd probably be this one. It's fast, upbeat and can hide my terrible voice much better than one of her slower songs like Confide In Me or Put Yourself In My Place could.

Well that was a fun three and a half weeks! I'm hoping all those who contributed, commented or even just read along with this throughout enjoyed it too. Even if you don't all agree with my ranks. :)

I've really enjoyed discovering Kylie Minogues massive catalogue of music over the last nine months and I've found so many gems. Thank you for your contribution and feedback along the way as well, I know some of my placings are a little unpopular but I've loved the warmth, respect and welcomingness of this forum!

It's fair to say that my placing will most certainly change over time, in fact I think some of the songs lower down have already moved up in my rankings. There's also that new single Lights Camera Action to factor into things now and given the four collaborations from this year are going to be on Tension II I feel I should include them too. Oh and probably 10 Out Of 10 as well given that was on Tension too, hopefully for the next time... If I do this again. :)

Just seen this now. Great choice for top track though. 'In Your Eyes' is a fab track for me too. The back to back of that and 'Love At First Sight' was amazing and I bought both on CD too. 'Confide In Me' is a very worthy runner up Fave too. Didn't really know it that much until the last couple of years but it's an captivating track!
