After coming back, last year, with the SABLE, EP, Justin Vernon has announced his first Bon Iver album since 2019. SABLE, fABLE is out April 11 via Jagjaguwar. The 12-track project opens with the three songs from the EP—“Things Behind Things Behind Things,” “S P E Y S I D E,” and “Awards Season”—and features guests spots from Dijon, Flock of Dimes, and Danielle Haim. A new song from the album called “Everything Is Peaceful Love” will arrive this Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern, with a video directed by John Wilson.

Vernon co-produced SABLE, fABLE with Jim-E Stack.

There’s A Rhythmn

Au Revoir

Produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, the bulk of ‘SABLE, fABLE’ was recorded at Vernon’s April Base in Wisconsin – the studio had been dormant for some time undergoing renovation, and this is one of the first projects it has held since re-opening.

Seemingly the spark for the album came on 2.22.22 – Danielle Haim was a guest, and the trio were snowed in for several days, during which they completed the album cut ‘If Only I Could Wait’.

I'm waiting until I've heard the single tomorrow before deciding whether to pre-order the album. I didn't love the EP, it was nice enough but I didn't return to it much at all, hoping the fABLE side of things will be more gripping

Indie shops have the nicest vinyl variant in salmon

So no need to preorder can buy on release week

Travelling so havent heard the new single

But its @3 on NMF

Agree that the indie variant is by far the best one so far. The yellow on the official site is such a weird choice, really doesn’t seem to suit the aesthetic at all

there is also a Green variant on Spotify, but doesn't beat the Salmon one.

there is also a full Black one but no thanks.

I’m not mad on this new one either, sadly. It’s fine again but it’s definitely not wowing me like the singles from previous albums have

It's growing on me

I like the video too

This week, Bon Iver will release two new songs from the forthcoming album fABLE: “If Only I Could Wait (feat. Danielle Haim)” and “Walk Home”. Each single arrives with a lyric video this Friday at midnight local.

but that's the new normal with indie artists these days

Not a big fan of that but guess they need pre-orders

If Only I Could Wait (feat. Danielle Haim) <3 song of the year candidate kinda song <3 <3 <3

oh and he's also released a more experimental one called Walk Home
