I quite like this, it's one of her better singles in the last decade. I'm definitely more of a casual Kylie fan nowadays than a die hard, I adore her personally but have only really enjoyed a handful of songs (singles) since Aphrodite era:

 

- Flower (utterly ADORE this one)

- Into the blue

- Golden (to a lesser extent)

- Padam, Padam

- Edge of Saturday night

- Lights Camera Action

 

Tension has grown on me a little too and Hold onto now was quite nice but I don't feel much desire to replay them.

I hoped Padam Padam would’ve put her in a stronger position starting this era but I really think the random collabs have squandered any hype there might have been. It was probably always going to be a fluke but Tension getting to #19 proves it wasn’t necessarily a one-off. I think they messed up big time after that however.

 

I agree. She had a lot of Momentum with PP and Tension but all the random collaborations afterwards have really killed this. Dance alone was partially based on Sia’s streaming power and all the following ones have followed a downward tendency. Don’t get me wrong : her profile is still very high, her fan base is strong, and she has gained a lot of acclaim around the industry. But chart wise, she no longer has any momentum. And even though I do like LCA, it lacks originality. PP and Tension were on another level !

 

Tension had 3 physicals out in release week hence it got so high then dropped.

Hold On To Now i think got squandered because i am guessing it features on The Residence and which got delayed and the video was shot from that series but can't be used (i could be completely wrong about this ha ha) we will find out.

You can't guarantee hits, no matter how good songs are. Its not the 80s anymore.

 

There is no way Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter should be number 1 and all the top positions all the time but they have the record company making all those influencial playlists etc.

That’s a very interesting theory for HOTN! It does sound a reasonable explanation for this mess!

Flower is completly adorable and is easily a single that deserved so much more, all I know is I'm very glad and appreciate that I know of the songs existence.

Guys we have to also remember we are talking 1 or 2 sales per hour on itunes. The biggest say is Friday and she did well.

 

 

Funny thing is the album download is the top version and could do with being replaces by the single version and her in the yellow & black dress which is at 57. They know what to do, drop the price on Monday

 

Looking like a top 75 next Friday unless a physical is dropped.

 

The campaign for this song is 2-3 weeks until the album is out so I think drop 3 physicals all this week and get a high chart position then move on to another release and getting on to playlsits for album streaming

I am so bad at predicting chart positions for Kylie.

 

I thought Edge of Saturday Night would go Top 20 and I thought Lights Camera Action would be Top 30.

 

Looking like a much lower entry, which is a shame.

 

I agree with the comment that Padam and Tension kind of got us thinking Kylie could repeat this success over again, but it doesn't look likely this time round now.
