35 in Monday's midweeks

Grrr… Annoying! Not too surprised though, and the tour sales seem to be going really well.

Let’s not forget, that even without hit singles, her albums have all been successful post KMO. Both Golden and Disco are at 150 000+, and Tension, which actually generated a smash hit, is the one that isn’t gold yet.

She’s doing just fine 37 years into her career 😁

I would be happy if the put the deluxe album on pre-order + Edge and LCA physicals pre-order to all for week of 18th October......

BMG can wait and see what position they are in tomorrow. The physicals are instant sales so they can even release them Wednesday if they want. They may see if there is any pick up in streaming etc.

Keep downloading, streaming and viewing everyone. I don't think she will drop that much tomorrow. I mean the difference between 35 and 51 last Friday was 3,700 sales so there can be some big gaps

We don't know there strategies........

I think even if physicals are ready to go it’s probably not enough to save it - if it’s down to #35 with 4 x remixes, 4 x remix visulizers, video, The One Show / Radio 1 / Capital promo, tour hype etc., then I’m not convinced a CD single will be enough to offset streaming
Its just a case now of whether it can manage to stay top 75 now or not and hopefully it can manage it, im hoping that she has enough to at least make the top 100 on Friday.
Such a shame cause it’s a banger but yeah think it’s gonna end up somewhere between 60-100 at this rate
It it was as high as 60 on Friday id be happy but think if it stays top 75 it will be at something like 73.

I think it'll be about 20 places higher than that.

'No Oh No' was #41 at this point and this is doing better on Apple Music.

Didn’t My Oh My have cds on release week though?

Am actually thinking to send out the 3 physicals on Friday in a new week, reduce single to 59p and hope it grows a bit on streaming, especially Apple and Amazon

Maybe it can do 45-40 type of run?

I guess we will wait and see what tomorrows update will be........

Spotify Update

Single 623,907 (+130,313)

Extended Mix 89,755 (+17,814)

Cofidence Man Remix 51,707 (+10,135)

Zach Witness Remix 34,104 (+6,912)

Jaconda Remix 27,566 (+5,797)

Total Sunday Spotify Worldwide Streams approx 171,000

I guess we could also think she may even have some more remixes to come

They could well send out a 59p Confidence Man Extended Mix on Wednesday on website to grab another batch of sales if close to a top 40?

I think she maybe around 39-41 tomorrow

I dont think Kylie will be anywhere close to top 40, you seemed shocked that any of us thought she would be close to top 20 in the first look chart yesterday which really overlooks so many streams so im not sure why you now think she will be close to top 40 by the end of the week.

I knew it wasn’t going to recreate Padam but for it to do worse than Say Something and Dancing would be really disappointing. I’m not overly keen on the song itself honestly, I love Kylie but she has become a little more… Americanised in light of her recent US success, I think that might be off-putting to some.

The tactics for Dancing, Say Something and Lights Camera Action are so different from each other that it's kind of difficult to compare them like for like imo.

Say Something entered at #82 (and with a Thursday release date it had "lost" some sales to the previous chart week). It eventually peaked at #56, 15 weeks later, thanks to it being album release week and the release of a 7" vinyl single.

Dancing felt like a comeback single, so I would argue that this gave the song more attention than Lights Camera Action (and Dancing at least managed to enter the Spotify chart for a day, if I recall correctly). Download sales were stronger 6 years ago so it was relatively easier for it to keep afloat (it entered at #47). Whereas Lights Camera Action's downloads will be less, and has been released in a climate of streaming being super dominant - so unlike Dancing, it really needs a stronger streaming performance to hold up well in the chart... but Spotify haven't been all that supportive. Dancing's eventual #38 peak was achieved in album release week and the release of a 7" single (just like Say Something), plus a 99p official store EP that fans really rallied behind to try and make Dancing stay Top 40.

So really, if Lights Camera Action is to debut lower than the peaks of Dancing and Say Something... it's not necessarily the end of the story, particularly if physicals are forthcoming. Also at this point I honestly think any Kylie single in 2024 managing to make the Top 100 is something to be pretty satisfied with. No disappointment from me!

I'm not really getting Americanised from Lights Camera Action, it seems very European flavoured dance/techno to me.

I agree that LCA is not Americanized. That's probably why it's streams look lower as the last few singles haven't had the USA streaming numbers that say PP had.

We tend to always think the first week is the peak and that's it, but sometimes that isn't the case.

I do feel the Spotify dominance of the main record labels even more so recently is an issue. Didn't BMG have their own distribution system in the last 6 months etc and not through one of the big 3 (Warner) and I've always thought Kylie has struggled more since this happened,, especially in Spotify.

I love Kylie but she has become a little more… Americanised in light of her recent US success, I think that might be off-putting to some.

I was thinking of the same the other day and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed. The UK is her biggest commercial territory but she seems to distance herself from the uk these days, rather since she moved back to Australia. Earlier, she we actually get happy to be considered an honorary Brit, she had assimilated so well and that was endearing. She now seems a lot more aloof on British promo. Sure, the label did the pop up shop and all for tension - so the logistics are there, but she has a bit of a “I’ve made it in America now” since residency. Irony is, she hasn’t!

I can’t say if that’s had anything to do with chart success, bur something I’ve noticed

Nah absolutely nothing.

Most people wouldn't know where she lives. She is UK loads.

This year alone she has been at the Brits, at Hyde Park, loads of Radio and plenty of TV to be honest.

There are not as many programmes to get on and I am sure we will see her more in UK for album launch etc.

She just won a Grammy, was in the Forbes top 100 etc and had a Vegas Residency and a US Tour incoming. That's quite a feat for a 56 year old and why shouldn't she enjoy the success.

She is not the only artist making music and good music. It's a competitive market.... plenty of stars don't sell songs and albums constantly etc. Lots of stars struggle

She has just sold out concert venues in hours all over the UK.

I think BMG may know that releasing a physical and getting 1.5k sales may not be enough this week so may keep them until another week

They will be monitoring streaming and sales etc and have better info than us.

Could we have a bigger remix coming still?

I am hoping if Spotify did the dirty with LCA that they may do better for the album. But like I said BMG cut ties with Warner for streaming distribution so this could be a factor also

It's not going to fall off a cliff this week

Maybe Friday they could release

2nd EP

LCA

LCA Acapella

LCA Instrumental

LCA Sped Up

+ all 3 physicals and see if they can push for a top 40 next week?

I enjoy seeing their strategies whether I agree or not lol

Also video got a boost somewhere

109k for the remixes

826k total all helps her chart placing this week
