Posted September 17, 2024Sep 17 Good evening beautiful Buzzjackers and welcome to the results of Song Pictionary. First of all, thank you for all the positive feedback about this format, it seems to have gone down really well. I can't take full credit for the idea though, it actually came from a good friend of mine who started posting these cryptic pictures on Instagram, for people to guess what prompt he'd given AI to generate them. The idea then extended to song titles, then finally artists, and that's when this idea was born. I'm glad you guys have enjoyed playing this format anyway - there definitely seems to be demand for more and the good news is that I've got enough more than enough clues in the bank for a future edition! Also can I get some extra leaderboard points for best quiz? ;) I'm in the middle of some other stuff this evening too so I will have to multitask. I'll be posting the results 5 at a time, so as to not drag out the evening... Edited September 18, 2024Sep 18 by Mangø
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Author Right, so without further ado, let's get started on the results... 1 Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone A nice easy one to start with. I don't think it requires much explanation! Correct (33/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jordanlee1402, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, elgornio, vibe, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon Half marks: Mack., LewisGT (correct artist but both went for 'Call Me') 2 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge Another fairly obvious one which was correctly identified by most, with a couple of rogue guesses of 'Firestarter' and 'Spice Up Your Life' thrown in. Correct (34/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jordanlee1402, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, elgornio, vibe, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT 3 Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down A couple of people guessed at Gorillaz but this was of course Arctic Monkeys, the sunset alluding to their second number one 'When The Sun Goes Down'. Correct (34/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, Mack., PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, isanka, Dobbo, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, elgornio, vibe, Josh!, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Very glad I quicky tweaked my answer for #3, it is not "Watch The Sun Come Down" but having heard Example's hit recently that got in my head.
September 17, 2024Sep 17 When The Sun Goes Down was the song that played on my 5 minute drive to work this morning! :music:
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Yep Blondie was so obvious but I suppose they did have 'Call Me' as well but that was 1980 and this one was a year or so before it so was instant! Arctics another easy one. Had originally put down Salt n Pepper for RHCP but 'Push It' wouldn't have added up lol. The Bridge took a tiny bit of time to come into noticing!
The Bridge took a tiny bit of time to come into realising! Yes I didn't see the bridge detail til I had submitted my answers. I had "By The Way" as the peppers were either side of a path but then realised, and also not the right decade!
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Author 4 The Police - Walking On The Moon The only guess that prevented this being a perfectly guessed clue was Mack's, who correctly identified The Police but went for 'Message In A Bottle'. Correct (35/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, isanka, Dobbo, Jordanlee1402, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, elgornio, vibe, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT Half marks: Mack. 5 Professor Green feat. Emeli Sandé - Read All About It A few people struggled with this one. Most worked out that it was Professor Green, but danG guessed 'Monster' as the song title while vibe went for 'Just Be Good To Green', neither of which I could accept. A green professor is reading a book about 'It' - therefore the correct answer is 'Professor Green - Read All About It' (ignoring Emeli Sandé as the featured artist here!) Correct (28/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, elgornio, PeteFromLeeds, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT Half marks: danG, vibe
September 17, 2024Sep 17 quite a high success rate for those first three, I suspect that'll generally continue really as a lot of them were fairly self explanatory - I attempted answers for all of them besides #6 agh I thought the book being "IT" meant it was going to be "Monster" given the theme of that book/film, the more obvious title of "Read All About It" didn't cross my mind
September 17, 2024Sep 17 I got both there, but what was with the union jack flag? It just is a detail that didn't need to be there. :P
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Yeah I had 'Message In A Bottle' down for ages so could see Mack's thinking but then they are "walking" which suddenly came. 'Read All About It' of course for 5 but was stumped for a bit on that too.
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Author I got both there, but what was with the union jack flag? It just is a detail that didn't need to be there. :P Yeah, sometimes AI throws in some random unnecessary detail!
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Author 6 Black Box - Ride On Time Here we have the third least correctly guessed clue, with just over half of you managing to get it. We had various time-related guesses (If I Could Turn Back Time, Time After Time, Happy Hour, Timelords to name a few). Apologies if the chest and carriage looked more navy blue than black, you can blame AI for that. But it is a black box which is riding on a clock, hence the answer! Correct (20/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, Dobbo, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Yobnedor, Riser, gooddelta, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, StoneDragon 7 The Beatles - Can't Buy Me Love So just about everyone got The Beatles from this as that part was fairly obvious. But we had a variety of song guesses: All You Need Is Love, Can't Buy Me Love, Love Me Do... the important detail here was the 'Sold Out' sign in the window. If something is sold out, that means you can't buy it. So the correct answer is 'Can't Buy Me Love'. No points for any other song I'm afraid! Correct (25/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, Ansel, Bjork, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT Half marks: Mack., danG, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Jordanlee1402, elgornio, vibe, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Adele 8 Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me I personally thought this would be one of the more difficult ones but what do I know? Some good scores all round, with only 8 of you not able to identify this. A couple of you went for Boy Meets Girl, and we also had Beggin' and New Kids On The Block. But it was the six coins and shabby clothes which should have been the giveaway for the artist here! Correct (28/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, Mack., PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jordanlee1402, Jade, spiceboy, Iz, vibe, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, rio309, J❄️hq, StoneDragon
September 17, 2024Sep 17 I was convinced that it wasn't Black Box... because it was showing a treasure chest and it didn't look very black, but then I saw the wheels and nothing else fitted.
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Ah I'm glad I got #6 right. I wasn't convinced given, as Mango says, the box didn't look black! But I couldn't think of anything else to fit.
September 17, 2024Sep 17 My only other guess I had in mind for 8 was 'Girls & Boys' lol but 'Kiss Me' came very quickly when you look into the context more! No doubts on the other two!
September 17, 2024Sep 17 Author 9 Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars And now we come to the first of the clues which was correctly answered by EVERY PLAYER :yahoo: Roba., Mack. and Josh! all said number 9 would be the most correctly guessed clue, and for that they earn themselves two bonus points! (don't worry, this isn't the only clue that was the most correctly guessed) Correct (36/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, Mack., PedroNL25, danG, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, HarryBorelli, Chez Wombat, isanka, Dobbo, Jordanlee1402, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, Iz, elgornio, vibe, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Yobnedor, paulgilb, Riser, gooddelta, n4yr, jimwatts, Adele, rio309, J❄️hq, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT 10 Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars Now, while 31 out of 36 of you correctly identified Coldplay from a play being performed in the cold, 8 of you went for 'Christmas Lights' as the song. I can't accept this I'm afraid, because there is no evidence of Christmas in the picture. There is, however, a sky which is filled with stars :) Correct (23/36): awardinary, Scene, Roba., chrissmith276, dandy*, PedroNL25, Ansel, Bjork, JulianT, Chez Wombat, Dobbo, Jade, spiceboy, ~1^∞, vibe, Yobnedor, paulgilb, gooddelta, jimwatts, Adele, King Rollo, StoneDragon, LewisGT Half marks: danG, Jordanlee1402, elgornio, Josh!, PeteFromLeeds, Riser, n4yr, rio309
