The follow up to what was the highest rated movie in Rotten Tomatoes history... It'll be interesting to see if 'Paddington 3' can keep the same magic as it's 2 predecessors or whether the loss of Paul King (who I assume was too busy working on 'Wonka' to work on this?) will hinder it's formula!

I can't wait for this, utterly loved the first two films. Sad to hear Paul King isn't working on it, he was amazing with Wonka too which is my favourite film of the last 10 years.
I hope it is good - quite a bit of pressure surely with the reviews of the last 2

I found the change of the mother character in this quite jarring, why on earth wasn't Sally Hawkins in it? All in all I thought it was another lovely film, not on the level of the first 2 films sadly but netherless still very entertaining and a worthy film in it's own right. I don't think anything was ever going to live up to Paddington 2 sadly.

Not quite on the level of the first two, but still a very worthy entry in the franchise, I'd say it's like an 8.5/10 in comparison to the first two being 10/10.

Emily Mortimer was good, but that cast change did feel a bit odd. I didn't feel the believability that she cared for Paddington or her family, because girl, you've only just met them!

The ending with Paddington getting to

meet the other bears in Peru, but then choosing to ultimately stay with the Brown family

was so emotional  And I loved all the bears being named after tube stations/areas of London!

I thought this was extremely cute but I do agree that although it wasn't *quite* up to scratch with the first two movies, it was actually a stronger entry than I thought it would be all things considered.

I do think they should have just had Emily play a different relative and left the door open for Sally to come back as and when she wanted to! Emily actually didn't *need* to play the mother. I think it would have been just as touching had she been an Aunt or something. But yeah, overall a really cute entry to the franchise and fun.

Glad I'm not the only one who found Emily Mortimer being the mother a bit jarring and out of place. They should have just written in something about Sally Hawkins being somewhere else for the film, like going to care for a relative somewhere or something, could have done "phone calls" with her.
