Aside from that and hearing bits of the DragonForce song from Guitar Hero clips I think the only other songs I've already heard from this contest are ones that were in PJSC before (emlyn and Meg Smith recently + Blondfire from years back, I don't recall if that was a contest I actually voted in or not, either way definitely don't remember the song anyway). I've not yet listened to the current PJSC but there are 2 songs there that are also in this BJSC (Cassyette and Cassie Henderson) as well. I did PM Rich wondering which current PJSC song he was speculating would also be sent here and that was indeed Cassie Henderson, so Rich with the early forecast of another Sandénia hit!

 

edit: tracked down my votes for the PJSC that Blondfire was in and I didn't vote for it there, but that was also the contest COY were sent to there and I actually did vote for that at the time, totally forgot about that...! I guess it must have sounded fresher while it was still new (or just sounded better against a backdrop of other typical PJSC songs) :kink: emlyn and Meg both didn't make my list of good songs from their contests but will give them fresh ears now ofc ~ (I definitely recall 'the devil called' being a lot better than 'the AUDACITY' at least).

 

Looking forward to hearing another Active Child entry (I know this is an older song but don't think I've heard it before), 'Diamond Heart' and 'All Eyes On You' were both excellent.

I almost sent another song by Casyette this month as well since her album is fantastic and she DNQ'd for me last time so an AQ would have given her a lil redemption but I'm completely obsessed with Chrissy's song so I couldn't not share it :wub:

 

 

I was exploring former Taahino entrants and was very close to sending something by Greywind. :o

Greywind have been releasing some really good stuff lately but they don't have a massive fan base from what I gather so they never get the recognition they deserve, I seen them live a few years back and it was basically just in a pub they played, there probably wasn't even 50 people there :lol:

She performed the track at LOST festival in July (linked below) - the single has 'July mix' bracketed in it because the beat was first sent to her by shy (one half of hoodie along with Naemi) in July 2022, she wrote it over the following 2 Julys and then performed and released it in July 2024. Incidentally if you don't know it do check out “Scorpio” which has a similar trip-hop style and was one of my favourite tracks of 2023.
