Phenomenal for Coldplay, I thought they would sell big, but I would never have predicted that much.

160,000 is insane for such a bland album! Isn't that already way more than the opening sales of their previous album? How is that even possible?

Music of the Spheres shifted just over 100k Week 1 in 2021. They have had such a huge tour in the interim period between albums though (which is still ongoing into next year) which could explain the hike in sales and an increased interest in this era (Glasto headline slot possibly helped pre-orders too).

Damn that’s like 80% of what Taylor did. Looks like they will land around 200K.

 

If Charli doesn’t have vinyls she is missing #1 again, as imagine they will manage at least 25-30K in there second week.
