Villa have looked totally disinterested in this game, perhaps they could just raise a white flag.

Hopefully Crystal Palace will win the final but really it's hard to see anything other than Man City winning the FA Cup. That's 3 finals in a row for them now.

Looks like Wycombe will be knocking Portsmouth out which really wouldn’t be a great surprise.
This ref in the Man Utd game is out of this world. Every decision in arsenals favour i

Yeah the ref was terrible in the Arsenal Vs Man Utd game but despite that and playing with ten men for so long we managed to get through. It was a really good defensive performance from the team today and Bayindir was superb in goal. I would take him over Onana as the first team goalkeeper, there's been too many goals conceded where Onana's reactions have been so slow and he just stands on the spot and watches balls flying into the net.

I mean, Arsenal should have battered you. Reminded me a little bit of the Liverpool game last season. This game just showed exactly what I think of Man Utd under Amorim so far - quite good defensively, but can't put any attack together. Most of Man Utd's goals under Amorim have been through Trent forgetting he's a defender or opposition players making mistakes.

Good result and take the satisfaction of being in the next round but let's see how they get on against Southampton.

Well there was a game he won 4-0. I think you need time to implement certain things and we’re beginning to see them. I haven’t rated a single Man Utd manager since Ferguson not even mourinho really but this guy I can see it. He’s got the right mentality and idea. To fully install his system may take a little longer until the attacking cohesiveness is right but the signs are there. You have to remember Liverpool beat Man Utd 7-0 under Ten Haag 0-5 under Ole. I don’t ever feel like that will happen with this guy. It’s a different feel. A few weeks ago I thought even he couldn’t help this group but he mentioned he needed training sessions to get his message across now he’s had a few the difference is clear.

Problem is, this style of football is fine against big teams, but imagine playing Everton or Forest who will just sit in a low block. Just don't think at Old Trafford you can have a 5 man defence as you are constantly relying on counter attacks and winning a counter press or teams making a mistake.

I agree with Liam, I thought Amorim was good before he came and he’s got them sorted defensively and they are fighting for every block. The wins vs smaller teams will come when confidence returns. And that’s before the manager getting any of his players into the positions!

Not sure how the ref was unfair though?

Well sporting perfected it under him and scored a lot goals so I don’t see why it won’t happen here too

Completely different leagues. Just don't see it myself. Proof in the pudding will be against the teams you're supposed to beat I suppose. Plus I reckon the other thing to consider is the style of football is terrible. The fans will be fine for the next 12 months, but like with Mourinho, when the bad results come, the wind quickly sways.

Must be in the Portuguese blood lol, those managers don’t play decent football all about spoiling!

All seems like very hasty judgments to me. Amorim is being treated like a supply teacher by some people when he’s one of the best in the world and eventually that perception will change

  • 4 weeks later...

I went to the Wigan v Fulham match today.

Wigan were awful in the first half but played really well in the first half and had one rules out for offside right at the end. They probably did enough to deserve extra-time but it wasn't to be.
