A really strong year for the BRITs! I can’t argue with (m)any of the winners - loved that Charli still got her awards despite not performing, and Chappell too despite not attending. I was worried they’d just hand them to Sabrina because she was there. Also over the moon for JADE - the first British ex girl group member to get a BRIT as a soloist, and she gave the standout performance of the night. cheeseblock

Really enjoyed Sabrina and Sam’s performances too!

Also loved seeing Sugababes appear!

JAAAAADE! Making history as the first British ex-girl group member to win a solo BRIT award!

  • Great speech from Myles addressing the closure of grassroots venues and labels not investing in acts long term.

Only 8 performances in the show and 25% of the songs were by Pineapple Swims? How long was it?

Was just shy of 3 hours but also on its so a lot of adverts

Have to say been watching clips back online today. So delighted for Jade, she really deserved it and last night felt like it was the start of something big for her.

Sabrina Carpenter and Sam Fender were good as well I thought, very deserving winners. Good year for the BRITs in all I'd say which in this day and age is a lot!

Thought the performer lineup was pretty lacklustre this year but I enjoyed the ceremony more than I expected on the whole. Thought Jack Whitehall did a pretty good job as the host personally and some very strong and important speeches from the likes of Myles Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective (makes me wish I liked the music of the first two of those more than I do x). JADE's performance was great and Ezra Collective were a fun closer to the show as well (was good to hear them doing 'Victory Dance' again despite it being a few years old, that was a great moment when they performed it at the Mercury ceremony, also enjoyed Jorja Smith's cameo). Lola Young's performance was decent too although her accent does come across stronger live than on record which is not necessarily a good thing oop x Didn't care for the rest of the performances, all songs I don't really care about and not performed in a particularly interesting way. Apart from Sabrina I guess, who just made me cringe in true Sabrina fashion.

Here for the Charli award sweep and was happy to see the awards for 'Good Luck, Babe!', Fontaines D.C. and Ezra Collective too. Also I do kind of understand Stormzy's point about saying the awards shouldn't be fan voted. And a nice tribute to Liam Payne at the end ofc.

Apparently, McFly's Danny Jones and Love Island's Maura Higgins were caught kissing at a BRIT Awards afterparty.

Just catching up on this. Majority of the awards I think felt deserved but I feel like FLO should have won Best R&B . There Deubt Album was a really great R&B Album. Raye I feel like won due to probably being the biggest name in that category but I don’t think she even released anything R&B related last year . The same could be said for the Hip Hop/Grime category Stormzy probably won that due to being the most well known to the general public but he didn’t release much last year .

I mean Stormzy did spend a couple of weeks at #1 whereas Central Cee kind of spammed a lot of stuff but nothing was a huge hit but ultimately in a fan vote Central Cee will always lose since a lot of people don’t like him which is probably why Stormzy said it shouldn’t be a fan vote

I actually thought Jack did really well as a host this year!

He seemed to have dropped the whole "public school boy" thing and there were some proper laugh-out-loud moments from him.

Seems Becky Hill isn’t too happy IMG_2591.jpeg

Omg the sass. She has a very good point though (except TLDP have the same figure as Jack in that post ~52k so not sure how that works).
