Madison won <3 but for a second there I really thought she was gonna lose.

easy win for Sinner,

Zverev was terrible, cant believe how bad he plated, he kinda gave up before even starting

A final between a drugs cheat and a domestic abuser is not exactly the most glowing endorsement for the sport.

The US Open will become a 15-day tournament in 2025, beginning on a weekend for the first time in the Open era.

This year's main draw at Flushing Meadows will start on Sunday, 24 August and end on Sunday, 7 September.

It becomes the latest Grand Slam to announce a Sunday start. The Australian Open expanded to a 15-day tournament in 2024, after the French Open took that decision in 2006.

That leaves Wimbledon as the only remaining Slam event to retain the traditional Monday start.

Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from Serbia's Davis Cup tie against Denmark because of a hamstring injury.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion was booed off court by some Australian Open fans last week when he retired with the issue after losing the first set of his semi-final against Alexander Zverev.

Djokovic, 37, later posted a photo of an MRI taken of his left hamstring with the caption: "Thought I'd leave this here for all the sports injury 'experts' out there."

looking at the ATP rankings, how can Ruud be #5

imo the ranking should reflect better when someone leaves so early on a grand slam

instead of being penalized for that, he climbs in the rankings

same in ladies for Zheng or Pegula

Chile lost their Davis Cup qualifier against Belgium when Cristian Garin refused to continue playing after being knocked over by opponent Zizou Bergs.

At a changeover during their singles match in Hasselt, a celebrating and leaping Bergs struck him in the face with his right shoulder.

Bergs apologised immediately and Garin was cleared to play after receiving medical attention.

Bergs was given a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct but Chile called for him to be disqualified.

Garin was given three successive time violations for refusing to play, resulting in a game penalty to hand Berg a 6-3 4-6 7-5 victory and ensure Chile won the tie 3-1.

That means he's going to miss Indian Wells, the Miami Open, Monte-Carlo and Madrid when it comes to big tournaments. The Italian Open is the next tournament he will be eligible to play in.

Novak Djokovic confirmed the partnership with Andy Murray as his coach will continue "indefinitely".

Three-time major winner Murray started working with his long-time playing rival on a trial basis at January's Australian Open, where Djokovic reached the semi-finals but was was forced to retire with a hamstring injury.

After his Melbourne exit, the 24-time Grand Slam champion said he and Murray would need to "cool off" before discussing the future.

However, speaking before his defeat by Matteo Berrettini in the first round of the Qatar Open, Djokovic confirmed Murray will return to his coaching team.

"I expressed my desire to continue the collaboration with him so I am really glad he did accept," Djokovic, 37, told the ATP Tour's in-house media channel, external.

"It's indefinite in terms of how long we are going to work together but we agreed we are going to work most likely in the [united] States and then some clay-court tournaments and see how it goes after that."

Murray, who retired in August last year, took a surprise coaching role with Djokovic's team in late November.

"It was exciting for the whole tennis world and also for us to be in different roles together on the same side of the net," Djokovic added.

Muchova prevails in a seriously weird match. Emma actually won 79 points to Muchova's 78 largely due to her winning a lot more points in set 1 even though she started off with a 0-4 deficit.

Jannik Sinner's case was "a million miles away from doping", a senior figure at the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) has said.

The men's tennis world number one was handed an immediate three-month ban by Wada on Saturday after reaching a settlement over his two positive drug tests last year.

Sinner, 23, was cleared of any wrongdoing by an independent panel after testing positive for banned substance clostebol in March 2024.

Wada had been seeking a ban of up to two years after launching an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) following the initial decision by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) not to suspend Sinner.

However, a deal was reached when Wada accepted Sinner was inadvertently contaminated and "did not intend to cheat".

but then why 3 months? should be either 0 or 2 years :/

this Andreeva girl is doing really really well, #9 already in the WTA ranking

Agreed, if he truly was innocent then why did he get any sort of ban at all... very much smells like a "oh well we had to do something" kinda punishment.
