I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Entered this week:

Kendrick Lamar & Sza - All The Stars

Tate McRae - Sports Car

Lady Gaga - Abracadabra

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way

Left this week:

Artemas - I Like The Way You Kiss Me

KSI featuring Triple Redd - Thick Of It

Djo - End Of Beginning

Florence And The Machine - You’ve Got The Love

7 out of 8 on my prediction is pretty good. I like the way you kissed me actually dropped out on Spotify last week so probably should’ve seen that coming.

Also you justice for Lefty Gunplay being left out on tv off

#62, so must already have been just outside last week as we thought.

No surprises to see Go Your Own Way back for the second time this year (#93 in 2023) and All the Stars (#38 in 2018) also appears.

Ransom has now dropped out on audio streaming so every song to have charted every week there is on the YTD, however Another Love and The Sound of Silence still haven't charted on audio streaming this year.

30 for 30 is the only nailed on entry next week imo, however See You Again or Casual making an appearance wouldn't surprise me either.

NIGHTS LIKE THIS, Constellations and I Always Wanted a Brother are in danger.

Entered this week:

End Of Beginning

The Chain 😮

Left this week:

Save Your Tears

Nights Like This

Constellations

Love the new format, so easy to read!

Does this mean there are 4 Fleetwood Mac tracks in the top 100? Insane!

  • Author

Haha it only ended up as a table because it came out like that automatically when I copied from Excel, but glad it looks OK!

Yes 4 for Fleetwood Mac for now. Note that they also had the same 4 for a few weeks in 2023 before “The Chain” dropped back out. I don’t believe “The Chain” has made a year end Top 100 (and it wasn’t a hit at all originally), but in 2021 it came very close - think it dropped out of the Top 100 in the final week.

For a while I thought 'The Chain' would become the first non-Top 75 hit to make an EOY top 100, until 'I Wanna Be Yours' got there first in 2023.

Eight weeks into the year and still there are no 2025 releases in the top 40 (although Doechii's didn't chart until this year), but that should change next week.

Wow at The Chain, was not on my radar at all as it has not charted on audio streaming yet this year (no idea when it last did tbh).

As alluded to already, it was incredibly unlucky to miss out on the YE list in 2021 as it got pushed out by Merry Christmas Everyone in the last week I believe (unofficially but almost certainly #101 for the year).

Although very unlikely, I would love it to make the year end, one of the best songs of all time imo.

'Defying Gravity' clinging on to top 30 - Ariana and Cynthia are performing at the Oscars on Sunday night so I wonder if that will provide much of a boost. Not quite sure but we have seen notable effects from U.S.-based televised performances recently with the likes of Chappell and Kendrick, so who knows.

Ordinary and Arm's Length set to enter this week. The Mufasa one is definitely falling out, not sure what else will go with it

Haven't calculated my estimates for last week yet but I would guess that Djo will go straight back out.

Having now done my estimations I agree with gasman that Ordinary and Arm's Length are definitely in this week at the expense of I Always Wanted a Brother and End of Beginning (#23 last year, re-entering this week), which seemed to get a one week boost on Spotify before falling back again. I also think Valerie might be in trouble soon.

Always possible we get a surprise entry again like The Chain last week, which is actually outperforming Go You Own Way on Spotify despite not having charted on audio streaming yet this year - I assume the two songs sales are fairly highly correlated and Go Your Own Way re-entered on audio streaming this week, so I'd predict The Chain to be safe for at least this week.

EDIT: Forgot to add this as I hadn't really been paying attention until this week, but where are Burning Down's sales coming from, it's doing very well given it isn't charting on either Apple or Spotify.

There's a second version of Burning Down featuring Joe Jonas which must be responsible for a decent amount of its sales. When it's off to ACR/off the streaming charts it's gonna be pretty hard to track.

Do we think Someone You Loved will fall off soon? It’s not been on the Spotify Top 200 for a lot of this year, which hasn’t happened before

It’s been hanging around #80-85 doing about 9k per week, so not leaving anytime that soon.

This week’s ChartsPlus is delayed FYI so the update will be a bit late.

I'm happy that 'Burning Down' is doing well as I love the song, but looking at the chart runs you would have thought 'Carry Me Home' would be on higher sales (as the two versions of 'Burning Down' will already have been combined on the official chart).

For the 5th week in a row there’s a re-entry…

Interesting.

I think it could be 'I Remember Everything' which has had a bit of a resurgence on Spotify.

Either that or 'Unwritten' is back again, which will definitely be back next week either way.
