I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Good to see 2025 finally entering the chart. Should be family matters next week? Then I’m sure others will get there too like Dior

Am a bit behind on my estimates so am admittedly guessing a bit here, but these are the 5 songs I’d have on the chopping block:

Belong Together

It’s ok I’m ok

Chasing Cars

Teenage Dirtbag

Another Love

I think both of the last two are fairly solid but could drop out for a few weeks if we get a sudden influx of new big hits.

Based on how well Oasis songs have been holding up so far and the length of their tour, I think Don’t Look Back in Anger will definitely show up at some point and possibly Live Forever too.

Family Matters and Mystical Magical should be in this week- once again Another Love and Teenage Dirtbag are the favourites to fall out but Belong Together might drop out before one of them

Should've seen "Don't Look Back In Anger" coming- thought it might've been another week before it entered. Wonder what "Live Forever" is on

Dior next week for It's ok I'm ok.

Think we'll be waiting a bit longer for Live Forever - Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger stream massively better than every other Oasis song when they're not touring so will have had an elevated starting point.

Not going to waste my time trying to estimate properly but would guess ~170k is where it's currently at

Edited by Maestro

Dior in this week, should be It's OK I'm OK dropping out. Think next week we won't have any dropouts, another dry period for rising hits and no obvious re-entries.

I just had a thought regarding 'Mr Brightside', will it eventually reach a point where it "sells" more units than people that exist in the UK?

Not any time soon - assuming 750k sales a year, it will take around 85 more years to get there

I probably won't live to see that happen then (thankfully!)

Depends whether what constitutes a sale changes in the future really

“Dancing In The Dark” looks like it will be replaced by something soon, be it a re-entry or a fresh oldie.

I have it 6k above number 100, guessing it's not doing as well as I thought then! Guessing "Chasing Cars" or "Teenage Dirtbag" will be back if it goes soon. Trying to work out what the next new entry will be, "Sapphire" looking mostly likely but "Hairdresser" might also stand a chance. Does anyone have an estimate for "Sparks" btw? I have it on 215k.

Just reading the discussion about Mr Brightside sales and I hadn’t thought about it before, but is it possible it could reach the incredible 10 million milestone by the end of the decade? Could Last Christmas also manage it, which one is likely to be first do you think?

Wouldn’t consider either particularly likely by the end of the decade, they’d need to do over 1m a year.

Think Mr. Brightside is currently favourite to get there first but the performance of the Christmas songs each year is hard to predict
