I can’t believe they played Good Luck Babe and skipped Pink Pony Club. They should’ve skipped the former and played the latter instead

Glad Messy got to #1 - the dog videos with the chorus on social media definitely helped!

I cannot believe they bypassed Imogen Heap and yet played Benson Boone who has been in that chart for over a year! Some chart show!

It a drive time show so makes sense then playing old MOR songs that’ll appeal to those listeners whereas Imogen would stick out like a sore thumb!

Its a chart show so the priority should be new entries and climbers like Imogen Heap.

If they are just going to play normal drive time songs like Stick Season 1 million times, then move the chart to 2pm and have a normal drive time show from 4pm.

I agree, but just stating how the producers see it, same reason they love playing dance songs as it’s a Friday evening!

I'm amazed it's not super clear cut. Top 10, new and re-entries, songs at a new peak, and there's still plenty of opportunities to play familiar hits that are dropping down or lingering. Satisfies everyone...! There's really no excuses for skipping songs climbing to a new peak in their 2nd week charting.
It's mostly strange to me that they skip songs that are currently on their playlist eg Pink Pony Club and Dirty Cash are on the A-List and got skipped yesterday while they play stuff that's been off the playlist for months. I can sort of understand why they don't play stuff that's not on their playlist (Indigo, Wicked stuff) but at the same time isn't the whole point of Radio One to push fresh new music and talent?
Sometimes I think it’s because the songs have already been played in the show before, Pink Pony Club & Dirty Cash were yesterday.

That chart history for Robbie!

Everything ever released top 2!

He was very unlucky with those two albums that didn't make it - 'Live at Knebworth' did 100k+ but was up against Dido's 'Life for Rent' which managed 400k and 'Reality Killed the Video Star' sold a massive 238k and was beaten by JLS by about 1k (like, you expect close races when sales are lower but not when they are as high as 200k+!).

Jaysus remember the no2 he got for Reality which was the first studio album that didn’t hit no1 but it was hardly a flop. He lost out to the XF in the singles too and ‘Bodies’ was quality as well!
