January 29, 20251 yr I’d be hugely surprised on the albums front! Even in the singles Tate is a pop artist so is nearly expected to do decently in comparison to Sam’s more indie sound! Her first two albums went to #7 and #5 whereas all his albums went to #1

Radio 1 will never play it though lol I put this in its own thread, but is worth repeating here, I actually heard this on Radio 1 earlier. Only the tail end of it, but it would appear they change the word "pussy" to "cookie" and they're calling it "Fat & Juicy" (I guess because adding "Wet" makes it too suggestive) Jack Saunders also raved about it, so if it did chart they probably would play it. Radio 1 will never play it though lol Think the Aitch diss track would have got a lot bigger if central cee entertained it or responded but he just laughed and said it was a good diss track which kind of took the animosity out of it

When I compare it to the numbers Stormzy and Dave got its quite a bit lower. Seems he doesn't have that same core fanbase Dave had or captured the general public quite like Stormzy did. Chart wise he’s only successful if something goes viral like “how can I be homophobic” His fan base is more around him than his music. Even if they’re features, band4band, doja etc had worldwide success those two never had or will have. His new album will go top 10 on billboard. Is he ever going to do 70k in the UK? Definitely not. His music is just not serious enough, everything sounds like a feature or freestyle
