I love how y'all lie to yourselves even though y'all know I'm right deep down. I don't need to hear the entire songs to know that every other snippet confirmed on the album is more commercial than abracadabra, which will only be played in gay clubs with lots of things that I can't write here.

Everyone pretending to support this song? Okay, but then don't act surprised when it performs worse than Disease on the charts.

Just because I'm not used to lying like you? Facts are facts, this song won't do anything on the charts and y'all know it. Another wrong move in her career.
I'm not lying to myself when I say I'd rather have Disease every single time over Die With A Smile despite the former becoming one of the biggest songs ever. I need MUSIC, I'm a fan for the MUSIC. Charts are a secondary bonus.
Disease over Die with a Smile? LMAO, that's why she can't get solo hits like she used to, her team must be full of people like you.

Which do you listen more to and enjoy listening to more?

I'm not her manager, I'm a fan of her music and I prefer Disease. I can't change that, it's just a fact? But one of the reasons I love Gaga is because she has music for every mood and for so many audiences. Her versatility has meant she is still in the game and a huge star!

See, I was completely correct in what I said a few posts above!

I also much prefer 'Disease'. I do like DWAS a lot, but personally speaking I have to be in the right mood to properly enjoy it. 'Disease' I can listen to any time and I still haven't tired of it. I don't care what you have to say about that either :)

Adelita, you can say that you personally want Gaga to release Zombieboy/Garden of Eden based on the snippets because you know they’re more commercially driven (from what’s available), but you can’t stop people from saying which they want released because they prefer a more traditional Gaga pop song.

I get you’re all about Gaga being the biggest pop star and commercially driven, but at times artists have a preference in what they want to release. We might care for the chart positions and want her to do well, but Gaga herself might not care and maybe fought to release something that may not be perceived as GP friendly. We do not know the thought process behind each and every single choice so it’s best to just leave it to her to choose. At the end of the day, like you said before in past posts, it’s her work and her art and she has a right to choose what she wants to release as her next portrait to be showcased on public display.

I don't care about your opinion either, however, when it comes to numbers there's nothing to argue about, facts are facts, as long as she continues to release songs like 911, Disease, Perfect Illusion and Abracadabra, haters' narrative is that she doesn't get solo hits like she used to will continue. I have the charts to back up what I say, you just have your opinion.

I’ll never understand caring about charts and number more than quality of and personal enjoyment of the music…

Bring it back to me when I said you guys are not allowed from saying what you'd rather she release or that she doesn't have the freedom to release anything that comes to her mind? lol. You have your opinion, I have mine, period, however, when it comes to numbers, facts are facts: solo songs she's been releasing since the Joanne era don't even come close to the quality of the 2008-2013 solo stuff she released, not even close, numbers don't lie. Her mentality of only releasing solo songs that go against what plays on the radio and what hits the top of the charts is a shot in her own foot. It may not seem so dangerous for her career in the short term, but in the long term, time takes its toll. You can be sure that the Beatles didn't become the best-selling acts of all time until today by releasing songs that only a specific niche would listen to. At the end of the day, play the game or you're out, that's it. She can continue to release as many songs that only a specific group of fans will listen to as she wants tho, however, she and her fans can kiss the charts and relevance goodbye.

At the end of the day, play the game or you're out, that's it.

I find this statement so odd coming from a Gaga stan!? Gaga has always gone against the grain/game and that's what has built her fanbase, critical acclaim, exposure and success over time. She has bucked trends since day 1 and continually refused to "play the game" in its traditional sense without ever being "out".

I often forget why I don't go into the forum of one of my favourite pop artists of all time. Until I do, and then leave immediately.

It confuses me what they actually get out of being a fan, because their ethos doesn't suit the artist they supposedly love and support. It's like they're completely missing the point, which is kind of comical. There should surely be some joy, excitement and anticipation for this new era, yet it's doom and gloom... before we've even heard the song that's causing all this fuss? The catastrophizing! Just go and stan Gracie Abrams if stats matter over everything else!

I had to laugh at "haters' narrative is that she doesn't get solo hits like she used to will continue", imagine caring what people say on the dumpster fire that is X.

Yes, quite! I'm sure she'd be very proud of you for the way you're behaving in her name btw.

I'm just simply going to try and enjoy the fact we have a new Gaga song and not let their toxicity dampen the experience.

Indeed.

My post was deleted but the mods need to recognise how off-putting this forum can be with toxicity. I just don't see the point in engaging or discussing anything Gaga-related when I know how it's going to go.

I deleted it but only because it quoted the post I wanted to delete which was a personal attack on the member.

It is disheartening to read the reluctance to post here because of the vibe that some members are creating. I'll keep working on making this place somewhere more welcoming because that is what Gaga stands for. :(

Please continue to post guys - safety in numbers! And remember you can mute members too and enjoy the forum without reading posts from members that irk you!

Of course I know, however, being subversive and always wanting to go against the game is not always a smart attitude. If you're a true Gaga fan, you know damn well how much she fought to get out of the commercial decline her career faced between 2013-2017 with the ARTPOP era + her singing jazz while everyone else kept dropping pop hits + Joanne which wasn't necessarily a comeback. Everybody knows that ASIB saved and changed the course of her career forever and I don't want her career to return to the state it was in before ASIB. I just want her to stand on her own two feet and not be held hostage by collabs forever, is that hard to assimilate?! It's hard to understand that if she continues to drop noisy niche solo songs like the ones I mentioned, she will continue to struggle to get hits without another act singing on her song?

Is critical acclaim a good thing? Yes. Does critical acclaim from 20 pseudo-magazine reviewers put food on the table? No. So the point is: every artist (Gaga included) wants to be successful, no matter how much they try to deny it, that's why they get signed to record companies and put their stuff on sale, so don't act like edgy weirdos who just want noisy, non-commercial music that only a minority will listen to because at the end of the day all that matters in a capitalist world are numbers, for me, for you and for Gaga. Sorry if I'm straight to the point.

^ I think that's a fair summary of your thoughts.

I think we need to just be a bit more kind and less pointed. It's great to disagree and debate her career and choices etc - let's just do it in a fun, carefree way while enjoying the ride that is one of the most exciting musical careers ever!
