Consequence lists Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” as the 2nd best song of 2025 so far: “For the last decade, Lady Gaga has asserted herself as an actress. She’s always toyed with scale and theatricality,

So ending first day with 6-6.5M views, very good, but it needs to hold up and not plummet like Disease.
The difference is Smile Disease both came oot first and then had the videos weeks later, so there was less interest.
It’s good a song, but it’s not a great song. Yet

Waiting to see if it is a flop or hit first? I get that

Yeah, listened to this and watched the video and it's pretty awesome.

Loving this era so far. Music and visuals that only she can do perfectly.

Agreed!! Definitely should have been the lead! But it's nothing like Steps-lite cheese Judas

But the other day you were agreeing with a certain somebody that she was making a massive mistake releasing this (before any of us had even heard it, I hasten to add)

PREACH!!!! 100% AGREED

Because it sounded uncommercial from the clip!!

Stop being a little girl and @ me, do like me, dot your i's and cross your t's. I said it and I'll say it again: neither Disease nor Abracadabra should have been released as singles when she got Zombieboy and other jams on the album but she is allergic to releasing pop songs with standard format.

Where did you hear these other songs? :o

Where did you hear these other songs? :o

Because everyone knows that Gaga's albums (except ARTPOP for obvious reasons) always have standard commercial songs that were mistakenly not released as singles: The Fame - Starstruck, TFM - Dance in the Dark, BTW - Fashion of His Love and Hair, Joanne - Diamonds Heart & Dancin In Circles, Chromatica - Alice, Babylon

This is probably my favourite pop package since 'Physical' — just obsessed. The video, set design, choreography, production (that 303), the song itself. Everything really aligned with this, and I can't remember the last time I felt that about a Gaga single. It's great to see her look back authentically without it feeling like a retread. It's elevated, the guitar sample is clever and brings some fullness to it (I struggled with how flat a lot of Chromatica was), and she swerves ma ma pa pa self-parody for me with the magic/Abracadabra theme.

Cast an Italian spell on me mother

:bratcheeseblock:

She looks so happy to be creating what she wants, the most in it she's seemed in years, and I'm glad fans are responding to this homerun accordingly rather than just worrying about metrics.

And so it begins...

I ain't gonna lie, this song goes off at the gym.

6M views and 4 hours to go, will it end up with 7M?

Edited by Adelita

Easily her best single since 'Rain On Me'. Hope it does wonders, looking forward to hearing it in the Clubs! So far this year's 'yes, and?'/'Von Dutch' for sure.
Wait, I actually enjoy this?!
