Yes, releasing it on Monday was a mistake. They should have released it on Friday and aired the video during the Grammys' break regardless. She wasted the chance to perform it too. I hope it's not too late for it to be a hit.

I heard clubs no longer play proper songs, so that's why dance is not the charts. So this was a risk!! Unfortunately for GaGa, he main genre is dance!!!

This music video sparked such joy for me that I've been revisiting her whole videography over the past couple of days, what a ride it's been :wub:

 

Pleased about the strong start on streaming platforms for 'Abracadabra' and can only hope it'll be huge for her.

I'm reserving my excitement for its chart potential. I think its debut will be hindered massively by the midweek release and then I'm not sure it will have sustained longevity. I think it'll do better than Disease, which did decently, but not be a HUGE hit.

 

Keep the faith!! Bad Romance was a mid week release wasn’t it?!

 

Plus many others like Born This Way was, weren’t Judas and Edge too. Applause and The Cure! She’s never been afraid of a midweek release. I think we’ll be ok long run wise I really do! I have a strong feeling!

I’m purely going off reactions here but I’m seeing so many “Gaga is back” esque posts and genuine excitement from casual fans. This really feels like the type of reactions she was getting pre ARTPOP. I honestly feel like Disease in a sense went a little unnoticed outside the chart followers / Little Monsters but this is like a real statement of solo Gaga is back and a new album is coming!

I would love this to smash and definitely see it performing better than Disease but I think the GP do not gravitate to this type of sound anymore. Hell if Brat, one of the biggest and most talked-about eras of 2024 can’t grab a top 10 position on the BB Hot 100 (despite having a viral TikTok dance and Billie Eilish jump on a remix), then I just don’t see it for Gaga. I would LOVE to be proven wrong, however.

Disease was added at #10 and DWAS debuted at #15 on there but just being on the playlist alone will be a big help. It's the biggest Spotify playlist so it will massively help with exposure for the song :w00t:

But Gaga has genuine stans as well as having the ability to really win over the GP when the song is right. She’s in a great position at the moment!

(I’m all for longevity of Abracadabra with Top 3-5 peak and remains consistent rather than a first week peak followed by free falling in the charts)

The only problem is that Gaga isn’t seen to be ‘cool’ to like amongst the casual younger fans in comparison to Charli XCX, who has that teenage rebellious image.
