Then the remix with Ariana Grande was released, instantly re-entered the Multichart and two weeks later jumped to #3! Both versions are great in totally different ways, and lyrically one of the strongest on the album. That said, it's a knife when every song on your masterpiece album gets blocked from #1 on the Multichart

She dominated the first half of 2024 along with Dua Lipa. Between them, they topped the Multichart for the first 17 weeks of the year. This Robyn-esque synthpop track found Ariana singing with beautiful vulnerability and was a big global hit for the Wicked star.
March 18Mar 18 What a year for the pop girls as Ariana, Charli and Dua provide my biggest highlights since I last commented! 'Training Season', 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' plus 'Sympathy as a Knife' in original form all got to #1 for me but the remix did provide a #2 rebound.Looking forward to the deluxe version of eternal sunshine out next week 💙 here's hoping it produces something worthy of a place here next year!

One hilarious meme mashed up the song with Hilary Duff dancing on Good Morning America. In the music video, Charlotte is shown pouring a glass of wine while running on a treadmill.

Much like 'Fergalicious' or b-a-n-a-n-a-s years ago, this past summer we were all spelling H-O-T-T-O-G-O, whether we knew what that meant or not. True to its opening lyric, it appears 'HOT TO GO!' spent the majority of its chart run at numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8. The song also achieves the rare feat of placing higher in the EOY (#4) than it peaked in the weekly Multichart (#5). I say rare, but it might happen again shortly? Chappell has one more song yet to be revealed...

The tiny singer dominated the summer with this toe-tapping earworm and everyone was aboard the Sab Cab for the rest of the year as well. Its 10 weeks at number one is surprisingly not enough to top the EOY chart, although it ranks the highest of all the 2024 chart-toppers.
March 28Mar 28 Funny to see more of the year's long-running multichart #1s and #2s ending up in the 11-20 section of this EOY than in the top 10, where it looks like 6 songs got no higher than #3! Some justice for Charli to be represented with 3 of those and Billie and Chappell to be the top 2 after the year they all had, despite not having a week at #1 between them.
March 29Mar 29 As with most years, I'd be interested to see a version that isn't points based and instead totals up the scores from each of the weeks. This format obviously rewards longer runners but doesn't do as much justice to those with particularly high popularity weeks across the site.Not grumbling though as from a personal preference point of view I'd definitely rather see Charli with so many hits and a Billie and Chappell top 2 🤩 Hoping that Good Luck Babe sneaks it as it is probably my favourite of the two

Well it does something similar here, with its final week on the Multichart giving it just enough points to overtake 'Espresso' for #2 on the EOY. This isn't your typical summertime hit but proved to be an instant standout from Hit Me Hard And Soft, and it was great to hear such a bright and happy song from Billie. No stranger to being a bridesmaid, it also peaked at #2 on both sides of the pond.Okay, no prizes for guessing the #1, but just how close was it?

It's already kind of a shock looking back that 'Good Luck, Babe!' never made #1 on the Multichart. It had three separate runs at #2 behind two Sabrina songs, 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please'. But those 22 weeks in the top 10 sure added up, and we redeem our Chappell fan status by getting GLB to #1 on the EOY. This song was the pinnacle of her breakthrough year and certainly defined 2024 for a lot of us. Hopefully it's just the beginning with even bigger songs and milestones to come.
