March 8, 2025Mar 8 lol I didn’t mean to be pedantic just simply stating the facts, it’s not like it’s a minor hit it’s been a relatively successful song off the Tyler album with 17 weeks in the top 75 (so far).
March 9, 2025Mar 9 Can we at least give artists chance to flop or be successful before whacking labels on peopleIsn't there a whole thread argument on what constitutes being a one hit wonder2 top 40s whether huge or minor isn't a one hit wonder really 🤷♂️
March 9, 2025Mar 9 Chappell getting a #1 single was really just a matter of time I guess, now all 3 of the big "new" pop girls who've dominated pop culture over the last year or so have had at least a week at the top (of course none of them are actually even close to being new, but they weren't industry leaders until 2024), feels appropriate. I really wish it had been 'Good Luck, Babe!' that did it for Chappell as that is by far her best song for me but 'Pink Pony Club' is one of the better songs off her album that I've heard, it's just one that I thought was only 'pretty good' when I first heard it back in 2020 and it's only very marginally grown on me since then (although at least I haven't gone off it!) Been quite an entertaining ride watching it gradually work its way up to the top, I remember when it first entered the Spotify chart I was just crossing my fingers it'd eventually get a chance to chart somewhere but thinking it'd realistically never actually be one of her top 3 songs so destined to stay starred out forever, couldn't be more wrong! Hoping there might be a chance of 'Abracadabra' snatching a week at #1 next week, or even 'Die With A Smile' finally getting there if it gets reset.I'm really growing to dislike 'Ordinary' the more I hear it so ergh at it now being a top 3 hit and has the feel of a song that's going to take a while to get rid of. I'm not entirely against Alex Warren, I actually really liked 'Save You A Seat' and 'Burning Down' is decent too, but not a fan of either of his two biggest hits hmm. Happy to see 'Revolving door' manage to climb in week 2 although as people have commented already it's a bit of a tragedy that the Myles Smith reset denied the chance of it restoring her run of #3 / #8 peaks! :'( (not least because the Myles song is not great x).I believe it was actually the solo version of 'Anxiety' that was going viral anyway so Sleepy Hallow getting a bit lucky to get a new highest charting single just from having the only available version for the bulk of the week have a feeling it'll swiftly drop off the chart in favour of the solo version from this week onward. 2025's The Longest Johns!I've not heard the Ravyn Lenae track yet but cool to see her getting a first top 40 hit!And I guess Architects found some fake cassettes for their album at the end of the week their run of album peaks looks even more strange now, randomly getting a #1 two albums ago, then returning to their usual form of missing the top 10, but now bouncing right back to almost getting a second #1 and actually with higher sales than the one that did get there! Shame that Doves ended up dropping as low as #5 but still decent sales from them, just a bad week to release I guess.

A bit like Cat Burns. Go was a massive hit and she may have had other songs that charted but the vast majority would only know that one hit One Hit Wonders of the 90s and 2000s for example would include Cornershop, Sam Sparro, Afroman, Olive. They all had other songs that charted but they are only well known for that one song.

March 9, 2025Mar 9 At least let her release a 2nd single and the if it flops call her a one hit wonderFar too soon for that
March 9, 2025Mar 9 Why are people getting so angry at saying I feel like she will be a one hit wonder omg. Calm down lmao, I'll be happy if she's not but I just can't see past it for some reason, we will see!
March 9, 2025Mar 9 Well your tone sounded angry and upset like others. It really wasn't that deep, get a life x
March 10, 2025Mar 10 This host was so close to managing avoiding talking over the Good Luck babe outro but just couldn't quite make it...
