So, I merged all threads about SA (there were 6 in total) in a single one. It's the competitor of Better Man now :)

I saw a pic of Robbie Keane somewhere today but now cannot find it, not sure if he is playing for ROW team or was just doing a piece for Unicef. He was a past republic of Ireland player & currently plays for LA Galaxy I think
Soccer Aid for Unicef co-founder Jonathan Wilkes has also confirmed that he is unable to take part in this year’s match due to existing work commitments abroad.

:o

Something has gone on there. There is no way he would miss Soccer Aid for work commitments :o

That is really sad. -_-

I think their friendship is broken :(

I don't know Laura, I find it very hard to believe that they fell out...I feel very sad when something like that happens so I hope it's just speculation & not actually true
I had this feeling since a longer time, there was nothing anymore, no tweet, nothing. It would be very very sad. But Rob had fallen out with Guy once and they are now friends again. Maybe there is hope.

I am sorry Elisabeth but how stupid is it to fall out at at this age of his life, they are no longer kids & Jonny was always there when Robbie needed him

Anyway as I have no idea what happened there is no point in I guessing , I just hate this kind of immature behaviour

Well it seems reading Jonny's tweets - the work commitment thing is true and he's hoping to be there on the night even if he's not playing.

I’m hoping to be all depending on flights & travel plans going my way !!

But regardless of that, there's no doubt in my mind that something has happened between the two of them. Maybe not a falling out but a huge distance between them that's been there since the last Soccer Aid.

I first really noticed at the Brits Icon Award. JW wasn't there. In years gone by he would never have missed something like that. Then he hasn't been to any of the gigs for the last two tours. No photos.

Then on Twitter - absolutely nothing between the two of them. No mention, no comment. Even when Jonny had his second son.

I'm not expecting them to be joined at the hip but after 35 years friendship when they were so close I just find it really sad.

That aside - Jonny's work commitment is with Stephen Mulhern doing a summer show with P&O Cruises.

Sounds like a great opportunity for him. I wish him well with it. ^_^

Lovely photo. :)

Look at Paddy McGuiness in the background. :o he's lost loads of weight since then. I think this was the 2012 one.

SOCCER AID GOES DUTCH

Three of Holland’s most decorated players have announced they will take part in Soccer Aid for Unicef this summer. Patrick Kluivert will make his debut for the Soccer Aid World XI, with Jaap Stam returning at the heart of the defence in front of goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar who has also starred previously.

I've missed a few of these. David Seaman is back and Jamie Redknapp. :)

Tonight I saw John Bishop tweet that he is England's "Assistant Manager". That's a title that Robbie has had the last two occasions.

Do you think he might be playing this year? I'd be quite surprised (but really, really happy) if he were to play more than a few minutes?

Normally the Captain's armband goes to Jonny. I think Olly will get it this time around. Or maybe RW will keep it. Who knows? ^_^
