Ederson's move to Manchester United is OFF, according to reports.

Sky Sports News reported in June that a deal was agreed between United and Atalanta for Ederson, with the clubs coming to an agreement for a £34m (€40.5m) + £3.8m (€4.5m) in potential bonuses.

Speaking to Sky Sports in Italy after Brazil's World Cup win over Haiti in the group stages, Ederson said: "Certainly, everything is almost done."

However, Fabrizio Romano has posted on social media to say the move has collapsed.

Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans.

United have prioritised strengthening their midfield positions this summer, but have so far met with frustration after failing to sign first choice Elliot Anderson, who is joining Manchester City, and Mateus Fernandes, who opted to move to Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham.

The Old Trafford outfit did agree a £35m deal with Serie A club Atalanta for Brazil World Cup star Ederson but that deal has been scrapped for now.

Chelsea's Andrey Santos is understood to have had his medical before a £48m switch and further signings are anticipated.

He’s a good player but never been fully convinced. surprised Villa are letting him go, but maybe wants to leave.

Manchester United target Ederson has signed a new contract with Serie A side Atalanta.

United had agreed a fee and personal terms to bring in the midfielder but the deal stalled following his late call-up to Brazil’s World Cup squad.

The Red Devils subsequently signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, and Ederson has now extended his stay in Italy.

Never really bought in to the hype around Man Utd this season, one of those teams that look great with space but if you get crowded out they really struggle. Liverpool struggled a lot with this last season.

Alwats difficult to go away to a newly promoted team. That being said, Tielemans and Santos looked absolutely dreadful.

Same, it's the same pattern. One promising season is always followed by a disaster so this will be the disaster season. That fact we still have Maguire, Shaw and Rashford STILL stinking out the place says everything you need to know...

Having said that the teams that need to be most worried now are the likes of Leeds, Everton, Palace etc. as Hull could easily be this season's Sunderland meaning that's one more space for a "shock" relegation.

There's not really any hype surrounding Man United this season, most people are predicting us to finish lower than we did last season. I didn't see the match but it's obviously not a good way to start the season but it's only game 1 and there's a long way to go.

Not only was that awful from Shaw but what the hell are Maguire and Martinez doing? Absolutely useless.
