Hello didn't know where to add this but I've just posted in Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World... thread however it's not appearing on the main page as a "latest post".

It's still showing a thread that was last posted in over 5 hours ago lol It's just weirding me out tbh.

Is it showing up for others? Have I accidentally done something to it as I added an album tag to the thread?

I know what you mean, and I've noticed the same thing myself occasionally (since the upgrade), where on the main page it shows one thread from a forum as if it were the last updated, but when I click

Well, Addy has just posted in the other thread again now so now that's showing up, but I did a quick "test" post and it still didn't show up tearsmile What's happening lmaoooo (sorry if I messed it up somewhere!)

I don't quite know the purpose of displaying the thread creation date, as not many would care or need to know the age of a thread when browsing for threads to read. But I gather that threads go bold when there is new unread content, and it should default to show the most recent post at the top. I can't say I've personally noticed any variences of that rule anywhere so far.

Sorry, I’m confused. I’m not talking about the thread creation date. Just that it doesn’t show that I’ve recently posted in the Keri topic on the homepage and instead still shows a post in another thread, 5hours ago.

Sorry if this isn’t making sense. I’m between travelling from home to work lol.

You are showing as the last poster in there now

Edit: ignore me I misread the post. I'm on mobile so can't see the same screen 🤣

I know what you mean, and I've noticed the same thing myself occasionally (since the upgrade), where on the main page it shows one thread from a forum as if it were the last updated, but when I click into the forum I find another thread that has been updated more recently. I haven't noticed this frequently enough to say this is much of an issue, though it must be annoying when it happens to your post.

Edit: could it be that someone reacting to a post makes its thread the last updated, even if without commenting?

(For what it's worth, I am finding it useful to see the thread creation date, for example in Personal Charts where I might look for threads created in the last week, regardless of when they were last replied to, so I can easily skip over those where I know I've already read the opening post. Similar with polls.)

Philip has mentioned before that something is off with search results not being in the order of most recent at the top either which is usually what you want to see for a forum search. It may be something similar with what you are describing.

Oh and the reason I brought up about the thread creation date was you mentioned at the time something about a thread showing "5 hours ago" but at the time that was in fact the time the thread was made as there has been responses since then from me and Addy, so really the 5 hours was misleading if you're looking for the most recent post first.

Not all of us will make use of every forum feature but I guarantee almost everything here has a purpose for someone, even seemingly little things like this! I find it useful when referring back to old sales threads that don't have the w/e date in the title.

As for Jonjo's problem, no idea what's going on there!

Assuming this isn't some weird caching issue that is only showing up for an individual person, as I've noticed it a couple of times too, my guess is a difference between how threads created before the upgrade are displayed in Invision and for threads created after. Could be when bumping an old thread, the code that recognises threads have been bumped to the top of the list doesn't recognise old threads.

(possibly only really old threads, as certainly threads from 2024 are on 'last post' right now but I can't think what would be materially different about them)

If anyone's noticed this more consistently that bumping old threads leads to this issue or has experienced the issue with a newer thread, shout, as that would disprove it.

A tag issue could also be causing it but possibly less likely.

I’m pretty sure when bumping the Alexis Jordan threads recently they showed up on the homepage. But icr 100% to be absolutey certain about it.
