In other words, it's about as likely to get it right as Cody is to refrain from predicting himself to DNQ in any given contest. Never a zero chance but not very likely either.

RontBet thoughts (not AI). Close odds at the top as I don't see anything running away with it and think it will be close. Will just do 25/1 and up but there are several others not mentioned that sound

"To Persephonia, I would say:

I placed DEBBY FRIDAY - 1/17 in 41st because it’s a very niche track that tends to appeal to a specific audience. It isn’t likely to be embraced by the broader BJSC voting pool, which means a lot of blank votes from those not into that kind of style. While it’s got strong support from a loyal fanbase, I believe the general lack of mainstream appeal will ultimately hold it back, and I think it will land at the bottom because of that."

nein

tbf that's interesting to see, that in its amalgamation it's accounted for most things except the advantage that high votes gives (IMO what makes the contest not feel like exactly the sort of consensus choice that AI tends to favour) and possibly the amount of alt voters in the contest; e.g. there's no way on this earth that Terra is finishing anywhere near bottom 5.

will need to think of real odds now

Honestly trying to even get that list together was a riot, I asked it to redo with all 41 entries but it just went no x

Blacksquares seems more likely, mine was just a massive pophoe really which isn't indicative of the majority at alllll

RontBet thoughts (not AI). Close odds at the top as I don't see anything running away with it and think it will be close. Will just do 25/1 and up but there are several others not mentioned that sound big too, argh!

Goddamn, ChatGTP LASHED the f*** outta some of you

The dataset is way too big and we all have different wordings so I strongly doubt it. I heard its math part is extremely extremely poor :’)

It's basically just predicting what the next word should be given the context it's provided, and whatever information you feed it (or don't) is more than likely to sway the results you get. For example if you were to mention that a large portion of voters tend to favor less commercial entries that might sway ChatGPT to discard any entries it deems too commercial even if that's not what you asked it to do. Even asking it flat out to not do something might sometimes make it more likely to do that because the mere mention of it is enough to influence the results lmao. Alternatively if you provide limited information you'll end up with it just regurgitating the songs in the same order you provided it like happened in Bré's instance lmao.

AI can be fun as long as people are aware that it's basically just guessing most of the time and tends to "hallucinate", and since all it sees are strings of zeros and ones where we see text, images, and video, it shouldn't be surprising that its results are usually generic, repetitive, and tend to make no sense at all once put under even just a little bit of scrutiny.

In other words, it's about as likely to get it right as Cody is to refrain from predicting himself to DNQ in any given contest. Never a zero chance but not very likely either.

What was the method you used some time before for predictions @diva thin muffin a long time back when you hosted with Lookylion? If I remember rightly you took everyone's predictions and used an algorithm to determine the most likely winner.

I don't recall the exact method but IIRC it was something like looking at all predictions and hye provided in official threads in that contest. I gave a certain weight to each mention a country got from another contestant and I think it was something like 0.10 for just basic mentions (stuff like 'oh ive heard this song by XYZ' and 'the title for EFG's song is wild'), 0.25 for regular ol' hype with no prediction attached to it, 0.50 for predictions to qualify, 0.75 for predictions to go top 10 or be contenders to potentially win, and 1.00 for flat out winner predictions. It did mean I had to go over all the comments and assess them personally, which adds the hidden factor of my assessment of how to categorise a comment possibly not aligning with how others see them or how it was meant initially. It was fun but I don't remember how accurate the prediction was in the end, probably not very lol

Once I get the BJSC stats tool rolling properly (spoilers - it’s in the works), we can analyze voting patterns and calculate the odds of winning. Will be fun to test it later.
