The title and relegation spots were decided in record time this season so the only bit of interest left in the Premier League is the intriguing battle for the Champions League spots.

So with 3 games of the season left to go only 1 team (Liverpool) has mathematically secured a Champions League place via finishing in the top 5. 6 other teams remain in the hunt for the final 4 positions, the question is who will take them?

Here are all 6 teams' remaining fixtures for reference:

Arsenal: Liverpool (A) / Newcastle (H) / Southampton (A)

Man City: Southampton (A) / Bournemouth (H) / Fulham (A)

Newcastle: Chelsea (H) / Arsenal (A) / Everton (H)

Chelsea: Newcastle (A) / Man United (H) / Forest (A)

Forest: Leicester (H) / West Ham (A) / Chelsea (H)

Villa: Bournemouth (A) / Spurs (H) / Man United (A)

Think it's also down to their opponents bottling it under pressure!

I'm going Arsenal, City, Newcastle and... Villa.

Arsenal can lose their next 2 but have 3 points guaranteed in the Southampton match.

City will win all 3 comfortably and end up finishing second in the league.

Newcastle vs Arsenal will be very interesting but they have a nice final fixture.

Then I think Villa win all their 3 remaining games and Chelsea/Forest ends in a draw meaning both miss out.

I picked Arsenal, Man City, Forest, Newcastle.

I tabulated predicted results and came up with:

Arsenal 73

City 71

Forest 68

Newcastle 67 (on GD)

Chelsea 67

Villa 65

If Chelsea beat Newcastle then I can't see them not qualifying to be honest.

Strangely, I think Forest have the best run in now but they are in poor form and their attacking and defensive stats have fallen off a cliff. Normally I'd say a home game against Leicester is a banker, but it's a derby game and there's a lot riding on it so it could be anything really. Think Villa will just miss out myself.

It's tough to call but looking at the remaining fixtures for the teams here are my predictions for how many points will be picked up:

2nd Man City 9 pts (73 pts)

3rd Newcasltle 9 pts (72 pts)

4th Arsenal 4 pts (71 pts)

5th Chelsea 4 pts (67 pts)

6th Forest 5 pts (66 pts) - better goal difference

7th Aston Villa 6 pts (66 pts)

Of course this is subject to change but at the moment this would be my estimate.

Oh Forest, that was a missed opportunity if I've ever seen one, with Chelsea losing and City only getting a draw vs Southampton.

Just shows what the bottom clubs are capable of when they aren't chasing survival. Leicester and Southamoton both holding their hopeful champions league opponents just shows that they could have shown such fight earlier in the season if they had dug deep.

Leicester vs Forest is a derby and to be honest, that City vs Southampton game is one of those freak results that if you play out 100 times, a draw happens once or twice. As soon as teams are relegated it’s almost like a monkey off the back though. Happens across all leagues!

Seems most people called it right. Villa were unlucky though

I would've been closer had Forest won at home on the final day!
