Posted May 14May 14 PopBase and Team of Rihanna are stating that the Smurfs Soundtrack single titled “Friend of Mine” is coming this Friday.Also now confirmed by Rihanna herself via her Instagram page!

Very little lyrics 😅.Can't say I was expecting a masterpiece though I mean it is just the Smurfs soundtrack after all but at least we've gotten something musically to remind us all she is still a singer.Soundtrack singles wise i'd say Sledgehammer and the tracks from Home and definitely the Blank Panther tracks she did are stronger than this though!
May 16May 16 I know it’s a soundtrack single but it’s awful. Literally just a chorus and some strange production with it. Her voice sounds so different here but I did like the adlibs towards the end.
May 16May 16 I wouldn't even know this was Rihanna apart from the vocal towards the end. The production is like 90s British dance (Underworld/Chemical Brothers) which is an interesting diversion but the song doesn't develop or go anywhere, and is a very odd fit for an animated movie.
