Hear me out.

Browsing BBC Sounds today and I found that for Friday 23rd May, due to Big Weekend this year occupying the schedule, I'm sure the chart show is not going ahead as planned.

If so, it's the second time this year it has happened, since March.

I honestly think it could just be a recap and a play of the number one single before 5.45..

Yeah it's definitely happened before. I'll get all the info up as usual, though I have a concert to go to on Friday night too so it may not be until much later that the info posts arrive.

It isn’t usually, the way that the weekends have fallen this year means that they’re only separated by a weeks gap when usually there is a 2 week gap between the events

The show is not going ahead, but the chart is still being published. Info will be found on Suedehead's commentary when it's published.

This is very normal during Big Weekend

Has this been happening since like 2010 or more recently?

I say "normal" but it was only last year they did it for the first time

They used to cancel it on a Big Weekend apart from a quick rundown when the chart show was on a Sunday so the move to a Friday eliminated that problem only for it to fall victim again since last year.

It's a shame Big Weekend falls on the same Friday that Eurovision entries will chart (if any of them make it). They'll miss out on getting a chart show play :(

Plus no chart update on Sunday hope chart company something up or gone have till Tuesday before know happen as bank holiday Monday

To be fair, Suedehead is definitely going to at least keep us posted with the info in its' place. But still I'll see if they do a chart recap at the end of the 5pm slot on Big Weekend tomorrow...

If Big Weekend is always the weekend after Eurovision then how come all the other years they've played the chart after Eurovision?

OCC should have the whole chart up as usual after 5:45pm, look on the bright they won't be playing Beautiful Things, it also affects the Sunday First Look Chart. And there will be a week in August at some point when its Glastonbury weekend. At least Joseph will get a well earned rest for his hard work.

Glastonbury is 25th-29th June, so not that far away now.

The festival highlights might come after the June 25th chart if the show goes ahead...
