I agree. I'm not a fan of some of Jesy's behaviour at all but it's so obvious that the horrific abuse she got during X-Factor traumatized her and probably led to some body dysmorphia and trust me, as someone who deals with this myself, it really can distort the way you see yourself and you do go to drastic measures to change your appearance. She obviously felt more comfortable with the wigs and the fake tan and I don't begrudge her for that all. My issue with her was how she didn't defend Leigh on the Insta Live and how she sort of fetishized black culture on the Boyz video. I know alot of people defend Leigh and she deffo didn't deserve the abuse she got from Nicki but even Leigh has been hypocritical with her stances by literally fronting a documentary on racism in the music industry and then supporting Tulisa (white woman) against Misha B (black woman) on Instagram....during Black Lives Matter.

Both girls have been very frustrating to support and there's obviously alot of layers and context to their relationship. I really hope all four can reunite at some point but Jesy definitely needs to take accountability for some of her actions around the Boyz release campaign.

Edit - Like, I really can't believe I'm defending Jesy but I am trying to be non biased here. While the Boyz video was a mess and some of the things she did during promo (implying it was the other girls who had the problem on Graham Norton, the Jingle Bell Ball performance and the press photos of her with a jacket saying 'black' on it) were very problematic, I will say that the whole Instagram Live thing with Nicki was a mess and a bad idea BUT I do think that it may have been hard to push back on Nicki and show assertiveness when the majority of people viewing were Nicki's fans, she had her debut song out with her that week and the last thing she would want to do is stand up to someone as intimidating and aggressive as Nicki with her fanbase watching. She did look mortified and I could tell she regretted it but at the same time she didn't help herself by talking about Leigh in the first place and she did nothing afterwards to try and diffuse the situation even when Nicki and her fans were posting pics of Leigh on social media and leaving sick comments under her post.

So yeah she does deserve criticism but I think there's some important nuance to the wigs/tanning and the Instagram Live itself.

Speaking at a screening of Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix at The Cinema Selfridges, London, Jesy said: "I go into the reason why I left Little Mix, which I've never, ever spoken about, and that was really tough, because, like I said, there's been a constant narrative that's been written about me - I believe it gave a false narrative of why I left.

"This was my turn to say this is my truth, and this is why I left. But I also just really hope that it gets put to bed after this, because I feel like I've been carrying that weight for a really long time."

But Jesy reflects on her time in Little Mix fondly, explaining: "What was really lovely is that, because it was such an explosion when I left with all the headlines and the narratives that were getting written, it felt like quite a dark cloud was over Little Mix.

"When I got to reflect on all the amazing times I had in Little Mix, and even the footage you see of Little Mix that no one's ever seen before, you just see how beautiful our friendship was, and the reason why Little Mix were so big. We really were best friends.

"That was so lovely, for me to reminisce over that. There's the little sh*tty part at the end, but people forget that we were together for nearly 10 years, and the majority of those times were f*cking incredible. We were, we were best mates."

The Sun & The Mirror are reporting that Jesy confirmed a second season at the premiere today. She will continue to partner with Amazon Prime Video and the second season is coming later in the year to raise awareness on SMA.

Jesy Nelson is making an extra documentary on top of her new TV series - all about her campaign for newborns to be tested for Spinal Muscular Atrophy at birth. The former Little Mix star and mum-of-two finished officially filming her Prime Video series some time ago about her career and becoming a mum.

But she decided to allow the cameras to keep rolling after her twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster were diagnosed with SMA Type 1, a rare condition which causes muscle wastage. Jesy is calling for UK babies to be checked for SMA at birth via a heel prick test and The Mirror has joined her on this campaign, which will now be boosted by a Prime video programme, going out late in the year following the twins journey and Jesy’s call for action.

At the launch of her series Life After Little Mix which is released on February 13, Jesy discussed the new extra show and her hopes for change. She explained: "I just hope people continue to watch the next part of the journey. When the girls got their diagnosis, we decided that we wanted to continue filming. As hard as it was, we were like, ‘You know what? There's a reason you guys are here, and we've got to make the best out of this situation’.

“I'm sure you guys are aware, like, I'm trying to get it[SMA] made part of the heel prick test. That's like my main goal right now, as well as looking after my beautiful girls.

“I mean, I haven't even seen it back yet, but I already know it's gonna be tough. But I'm just so happy that we've been able to document everything, because I really believe that we're going to make change. Like, I feel it.

“I love how dedicated people are to spreading awareness about everything that I've been through and this(new programme) is going to shed even more.”

At her London screening today Jesy also gave a brief update on the health of the twins, who she has previously said may never walk due to SMA. She said: “They're so good. They're like, the best, you know, they're doing the best that they can, and they're happy and they're smiling, and that's, all I can ask for. I just can't wait to show it to them(TV series) when they're older and just be like ‘Look what you did, look how amazing you are’.”

Unless Jesy issues a full apology to the girls in the documentary (and privately as well), I have no interest in watching the documentary or hearing her “speak her truth”.

You spoke your truth, almost 5 years ago, when you let MAGA Minaj tear the woman you called your sister for 10 years apart. And this all has to be about her healing.

There's one thing I really don't understand she appeared in loads of interviews after she left Little Mix which she clearly didn't highlight the real reason for leaving so she allowed the headlines to run away with all the stories (Was that because she had a solo career at that point and the headlines were creating publicity) I adore Jesy but when she left it all seemed very cruel to the other girls who she claimed were her best friends.

I really hope some of that is addressed in terms of why she made the decisions she did at that time rather than her just explaining why she left because her actions after leaving were pretty wild throwing them all under the bus and seemingly let headlines run away with all sorts.

I'm looking forward to the documentary but I still HATE the way they've used 'Life After Little Mix' as the title when she literally erased all signs / milestones / The girls from her socials it just doesn't sit right...

She said today at the screening or in an interview that she doesn’t know why she didn’t actually say earlier and why she kept quiet. Very interested to hear what she says in the doc, feel like they are saving all the big juicy bits for that.

I think you’ll enjoy Part 2 of Jesy’s podcast. So many nice and funny stories about being in Little Mix and her appreciation for it.

Again, Jesy really seems to have turned a corner since becoming a mum she's really radiating confidence and she'd definitely back to the earlier stages of Little Mix in terms of her character which is lovely especially with everything she has going on.

Imagine how incredible it would be to have all the Little Mix babies / Children sat together watching their mums smash it on stage.

I loved this interview so so much! This is more of a fun interview. I’m really shocked she said ‘who knows’ to a reunion!

I loved all her little mix stories, this interview made me laugh and brought smiles to my face! Her saying she realised after leaving the group it was better being in a band than solo. I think deep down she regrets leaving.

Argh, whoever on Popjustice Forum (if you're a member here) can you stop with the 'she was laughing at Leigh's expense on IG'. An awkward, polite giggle to something said by the notoriously aggressive Nicki Minaj in front of all the Barz watching is not the same as pissing yourself laughing.

Are people really that bad at reading body language and behaviour that they genuinely think Jesy found it funny and was maliciously laughing at Leigh? She looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her up the entire Live.

Yeah people need to just move on!

She looked so good:

"Make as much money as you can, then leave".

Then, she left.

I suppose the documentary will throw more light.

I don’t think the soundbites from that podcast are doing her any favours amongst Mixers. She’s being absolutey dragged - again - for saying she hated being in the group and only stayed for the money.

Feels like mixers are trying to find anything to attack her. It was advice she received and who wouldn’t do the same? If you knew you could be financially stable and change your families life. But obviously she did not stay for just the money. She said it was her dream and she loved performing and the girls were her best friends.

Little Mix didn’t work for free, like anyone they worked to make money. They were just lucky it was their dream. For people that clearly hate her on Twitter to twist her words is insane to me and try and diminish her time in little mix with anything they can.

I wish mixers would leave her alone. It’s fine for Leigh-Anne to talk about money multiple times…

Its honestly embarrassing how all in people go with Jesy. None of us know the full ins and outs. Probably largely people who shared disgust at what she shared in Odd One Out.

At the end of the day it is a JOB. Not a calling. If they were all in it solely for the love on music they would be content as pub singers and wouldn't bother with all the brand deals they took.

At rhe end of day when it came to the fan facing stuff (as in the only bit thats anyones business) she delivered. Down to the very last performance. She doesnt owe any of us a justification for her professional choices.

I think after the way Caroline flack was handle people really need to think before they comment, and at least try and get more facts

I don't understand why she's being dragged she said her brother told her to 'make as much money as possible' then leave as she wouldn't have an opportunity like that again? Surely that's a common conversation most families would have? It's her career we're talking about she wasn't just in Little Mix for fun? She didn't actually enjoy it so stayed on the basis of 'what else would she do?' she could hardly leave and then just go back to a 'normal' job (Remember this was also only 2 years in).

She also didn't say she hated everything she said she hated the music video's and certain aspects of being in a girl group (Who wouldn't hate being in music video's if you weren't confident with how you looked?) People think being a popstar is all glam it's actually very hard especially on the level Little Mix were. Jesy obviously just struggled from the off I'm sure the relentless bullying also didn't help.

Personally, I've never had an issue with her not enjoying it my issue has been how she railroaded the other girls and didn't just sit everyone down and bow out gracefully instead she blocked them all and was so cutthroat I don't think the girls deserved that. Then obviously the blackfishing which I'm still sad she hasn't addressed but also understand a little if the tan / look was the only thing getting her through because she struggled with major mental health and confidence issues.

Yes Jesy has made loads of mistakes but she genuinely didn't say anything wrong in any of her recent interviews they were more positive than ever?!

Sorry but you make no sense. There’s no room to be polite or awkward when a woman you’ve known for five minutes is tearing down the woman (who just gave BIRTH!) you called your sister for ten years, calling her a clown & bullying her while you snigger thinking you’ve got in with the “cool kids”.

She then proceeded to say nothing, while the demented Barbz attacked a postpartum Leigh on her Instagram (funny given you not even two years ago made a documentary about bullying!!!!!!!) and continued to blackfish (she still does to this day!) and promote the abysmal ‘Boyz’ only to then do a 180 and try some ‘balladz’. Unsurprisingly, Jesy’s career ended with Bad Thing (which I will admit is much better than Boyz but she f***ed up her career from the get go).

If Jesy doesn’t apologise in the documentary (having four years to think about the consequences of her actions) I don’t want Little Mix to ever reconcile as a four. And not her saying “I wAnT tO tElL mY sToRy” when her PR was consistently sending stories to the Daily Mail attacking Leigh Anne.

All that being said, however, I’m not a monster. Clearly she’s got a lot going on with her twins’ SMA diagnosis, and her separation. I feel a lot of empathy towards her situation at the moment.

But please can we not talk about “wanting to get the record straight” or even Little Mix in general? Like we know about what happened. The girls tried speaking to you at the Sweet Melody video shoot about the controversy regarding you blackfishing, and you instead chose to block them all on WhatsApp & phone them slagging them all off, your actions were so bad that they had to go to therapy together.

Get in the bin if you’re going to still pretend you’re the victim, Jesy.
