Yup i heard a leaked snippet on tiktok recently but it sounded kinda unfinished similar to fufn back then but now its even more of an eargasm MOTHER is not coming to play 🙏

I'm so excited but each release leads to disappointment when Spotify gives her zero playlisting!

I know that's very glass-half-full, but it's probably best with Jade's chart fortunes.

I’m beyond caring about chart stuff in all honesty. As long as shems delivering for me and how I feel on the songs, then I’m not too bothered.

Obviously it’d be nice to have chart hits but it’s pretty hard to get “hits” without the right playlisting (which I doubt RCA will do now)

Yeah same for me tbh the album has a release date and she'll be critically acclaimed and is building a cute little fandom and who knows what music sticks to the gp nowadays so maybe we'll be lucky and something is catching on soon but i'm not relying on that her songs are amazing produced and she can be proud of her first era 🙏

Agreed, I'm not as bothered by the charts anymore BUT I just hope she manages to have some big chart moments as a solo star. She honestly deserves them!

And if she doesn't have one of those then she has to go independent.

And then she's definitely not getting a lot of playlist support, variants etc.

(I know Raye has done well as an independent artist, but short of Escapism she hasn't had a lot of playlisting).

Honestly, I feel like Jade is going to blow up. She’s just such a star and I feel like she has so much support (industry support) and momentum.

Although this is true, I prefer a record label who trusts me and not keeping pushing my work/album back. You mentioned RAYE and she is one of those examples at all. She found success as an independent artist instead of being under Polydor, who kept holding her back 'her debut album' tons of times and they were telling her to do something she doesn't have a vision of (re: dance songs vs. R&B route).

Regarding JADE, a pattern and a similar thing could be done. Obviously, she will release an album under a label, which is good, but the strategy of the label is concerning to release after the festivals and not in before and/or in between. I'm kind of sure this has already been discussed. That said, it depends if you prefer to have 'hits' under your belt or having a group of fans supporting you. JADE's advantage is that she's coming from Little Mix, but I think she's getting more after how good her solo songs have been, so her career is promising. However, she's under RCA, so... sigh!

I mentioned RAYE as I knew someone would come along and say about her being a successful independent artist.

But actually...

She had a massive hit with Escapism after it went viral, but none of her other songs have got close.

Her album made #2 with 15k in it's first week, which is great but not maybe what people expect of someone who is everywhere and highly regarded.

RAYE is successful, and Jade could have that same success, but it won't be with hits rolling in if she is independent.

That was the point I was making.

Good for her for being so popular and all that with fans and radio and TV.

I hope they stream and buy her music!

Don't hate me for this but I actually think RCA made the right call with the album release (Perhaps an August release date would have been better but I'm sure there's a reason it's the 12th) I sound like a broken record but the album clearly was nowhere near ready when she performed at The Brits so I genuinely feel like this was the best move because the hype for her has sky rocketed performing at the festivals it's really solidifying her fanbase.

Plastic Box being released off the back of fans already hearing it at key festivals will surely help it's hype and then if she releases a couple of instant grats before the album it should hopefully do pretty well.

I'm honestly just thrilled that the album is confirmed and has a release date! Now that we know that I'm happy for her to put out as many singles as she likes. It's so rare now to have so many singles from an album, and we've gotten so many great visuals from her because of it!

Who knows this could end up being her second most successful song , FUFN didn't help itself with explicits causing restrictions otherwise that probably would of done at least a little bit better
