Seems like Eze to Spurs is almost done too

Talks are continuing between Tottenham and Crystal Palace about a deal for Eberechi Eze.

As of right now, a deal has not been agreed.

Even though I know I disagree with a lot of people in this thread on footballing matters.. I think we can all take solodice that we're already bored of the Gyokores celebration and he's not even score

I think Mbeumo would be a good signing, him and Cunha could possibly bounce off each other a bit similar to Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. After how last season turned out even the smallest of steps woul

There is still plenty of work to be done, and a clearout should be the priority, but it depends who is interested in approaching big waged Rashford, Sancho etc. I need Jean-Philippe Mateta to join U

Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal with Manchester City over the loan signing of Claudio Echeverri.

Borussia Dortmund also made an offer for the 19-year-old, but have been informed he will be joining Bayer Leverkusen.

Sky in Germany report that the deal is for a straight loan that does not include a purchase option.

Probably. I think it happens, I've absolutely zero sympathy for Newcastle. Players ask to leave all the time, you just end up driving a hard bargain and respecting their wishes.

It just gets messy now and the atmosphere next Monday is going to be absolutely volitile.

Seems like he’s trying to make it as toxic as possible so Newcastle think no way to reintegrate him so better to sell but logically there is nobody out there who can replace him so selling him makes no sense. Could see both scenario’s happening still but unless Liverpool pay 150 can’t see New castle budging

There's loads of players who can replace him, Newcastle have just either not got their targets or have sat on their hands to do nothing. It will be about £130m. Howe has come out and said the dressing room was rumbled, if you re-integrate an unhappy player, he's still going to want to leave and the mood of the dressing room is not exactly going to be electric.

The irony of all this is Newcastle are crying wolf, but Wissa is doing the exact same thing.

Does look like Guehi will go to Liverpool for 40mill though. He’s decent but a little overrated

Newcastle are still going to get double their money for him. They seem a mess behind the scenes in terms of transfers!

All the Newcastke journos are parroting a line from PIF. What's clear is at this point it's a matter of ego, but Newcastle have put themselves in to a hole here. This is all very messy and whole I think you can rightly point to Suarez and Kane as two high profile examples of kicking up a fuss and not leaving, Isak at the moment is not even entertaining the thought of playing for Newcastle again.

True but at the same time it looks like Newcastle aren’t entertaining the idea of him leaving anymore and ultimately the ball is in their court not Isak’s

Which is a stupid idea on Newcastle's behalf. Clubs don't want to let half of the players go, but you do. Liverpool didn't want to let Diaz go but we got a fair price and he wanted to leave. Pretty sure Palace don't want to let Eze go, but they will.

At the moment Isak has gone rogue and clearly Newcastle are fighting for PR. They've done anything but sign a striker this summer and the situation looks irreparable at the moment.

It looks like Newcastle are set for a season of struggle. Isak carried them to the success they had last season and to either not have him or have a very un-motivated version of himself doesn't bode well.

Sheesh they completely shut it down

We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening.

We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.

We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired.

We do not foresee those conditions being met.

This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.

The statement is absolutely terrible all done to save face and PR.

It also doesn't say they won't sell.

If he does move to Liverpool you better be prepared for him throwing the same tantrum in 2/3 years when he wants out again for Real Madrid!

Fine by me, had plenty of players want to leave before. Fairly certain at least of Macallister, Konate or Gravenberch will end up there in the next 12 months and we don’t want to lose any of them! It’s football, it happens.

I'd love for one day a club to not give in to a player where this meant not playing them rather than re-integrating them and giving them a payrise, but it's just never going to happen in a PSR world where players are as much assets on a balance sheet as they are footballers that contribute to the team.

In this situation it does feel like it's an inevitability he'll end up leaving, but Newcastle have done an incredibly bad job at getting a striker in, if they'd successfully managed to get any of the many they'd tried I'm sure they'd be far more willing to sell.
