  • I went on the gig on Friday 6h in Emirates! It was so cool! Robbie was fantastic and I really loved the C stage in the general admission. He was like 10m away :D

Nice to see lots of youngsters at the barrier there. We noticed how many men there were in the audience last Saturday - way more than 20 years ago

I am positive surprised how full the stadiums have been until now. Even Paris is sold out and France has never been his core audience

I read the opinions of casual concert visitors of all age groups in Germany and also the critics and all were incredible positive. Not one word about disappointment that the tour is called Britpop and has only two songs of the album in the set. Matter of fact many tours of Rob had titles which had nothing to do with the album to promote. Yes, some of the fans in the fori and chat groups maybe disappointed. But how many fans are we talking about? We are maybe 10 in here. There are many more in the fan groups on FB but posting are not more than 3 dozens if any. With the casual commentors to insta clips you see either haters or those who love what they were part of in the concerts. I am not a fan of many of the songs these days but of the person Rob. Still I think the hard core fans are too hard and judgemental to what sells tickets. He can not live from their payments and opinions, mho

I have read many comments about this discussion on different social media platforms & peoples point of view differ which of course they should . Some prefer the old favourites & others a mix of old & new.

I personally would like to have seen a couple of the Britpop songs included in the setlist especially when touring in the Northern Hemisphere, people in this part of the world get the opportunity to see him every couple of years so maybe would appreciate something different every now & then. I was thinking maybe two songs from Britpop in the first half of the current show ( which he did in the second show in Deusseldorf ) _ & two in the second half , that would keep us all happy. . I posted a comment on one of Karl's videos on Instagram so I was hoping he might take heed , no harm in asking thumbup

I can also fully understand that he will do all the old favourites when he tours in South America, he has not been there for 20 years so I am sure everyone there are so excited about seeing him. It will be brilliant for them.

More thoughts on the BRITPOP setlist , this time from RWFanfest

It’s a year to the day since we shared the news that we were incredibly fortunate to be invited to the Britpop secret album listening party in Manchester.

A year during which that album then was finalised and released and went to number one securing Robbie Williams his record breaking 16th UK number one album. 🙌🏻" referrerpolicy="origin-when-cross-origin" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tb8/1/16/1f64c_1f3fb.png" style="border: 0px; border-start-start-radius: 0px; border-end-end-radius: 0px; border-start-end-radius: 0px; border-end-start-radius: 0px; object-fit: fill;">🙌🏻" referrerpolicy="origin-when-cross-origin" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tb8/1/16/1f64c_1f3fb.png" style="border: 0px; border-start-start-radius: 0px; border-end-end-radius: 0px; border-start-end-radius: 0px; border-end-start-radius: 0px; object-fit: fill;">

The year a number of singles came off the album including “Spies”, “Pretty Face” and “All my life.”

And now the Britpop tour has resumed for the summer festival season and rest of the world tour dates and we’re seeing a lot of discussion in the various RW groups about the fact the tour is CALLED Britpop but doesn’t feature very much of the album AT ALL.

There is a real disconnect with the theme of the tour and a disappointment for the fans who want to hear MORE of this incredible studio album live.

The Long 90’s shows in intimate venues clearly played a big part in bringing these tracks to the hardcore fans but they were small shows, tickets were impossibly hard to get your hands on, they were UK only and so many people did not get to go.

There are some incredible tracks on this album that would make for amazing Stadium moments.

“All my life” and “Pretty Face” in particular would sound incredible in a stadium and even songs like “it’s all fun until the drugs stop working” would go off in a stadium if the words were up on the big screen…

We’re personally a bit sad that we may never get to hear “Green eyed mental boy” live. It’s a banger.

Obviously, the tour was fully designed and the staging and lighting and run times were set and the tour was already underway before the album release date was moved and then moved again.

Obviously, the tour was already underway when the album came out and the 2026 tour is a continuation of a tour that started at the end of 2025. Kim Gavin who was instrumental in the design of this tour is also now on tour with Take That. So we don’t know what the practicalities or limitations may be of chopping and changing and moving songs in and out of the setlist…

However, we can’t help but feel that they’ve missed a trick in not having MORE of the Britpop album tracks in these current live shows.

We accept that Rob feels very strongly that as an audience member he doesn’t want the mood or the tempo to drop and the wider audience beyond the first 10 rows in the pit of a stadium has come “to hear the hits.”

But naming the tour Britpop if all they’re going to play play is Rocket 🚀" referrerpolicy="origin-when-cross-origin" src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tc6/1/16/1f680.png" style="border: 0px; border-start-start-radius: 0px; border-end-end-radius: 0px; border-start-end-radius: 0px; border-end-start-radius: 0px; object-fit: fill;"> feels like a massive missed opportunity to us…

If these songs were good enough to get the number one, they’re good enough to go on tour.

Thoughts?

The day that Robbie Williams set Florence on fire and the night of The Cure between melancholy and rock

√ 13 June 2026 - Firenze Rocks - Visarno Arena - Florence - Robbie Williams in concert - Photo 13 - Rockol

It was two days of music that has just passed at the Visarno Arena in Florence capable of telling, rather than two simple concerts, two different conceptions of live performance.

On the one hand, Robbie Williams, who on Saturday 13 June transformed the stage of Firenze Rocks into a pop variety show where irony and provocation merge with a devastating scenic charge; on the other hand, The Cure, on Sunday 14 June, offered a lesson in sonic melancholy, enveloping the tens of thousands of people present in an almost cathartic atmosphere, made up of reverberated guitars and that dark romanticism that Robert Smith has been cultivating for over forty years

Robbie Williams, the irresistible return of the human "talent show"

The second day of the festival, the one dedicated to the former Take That, had a special flavor: not only for the return of the artist almost thirty years after the first Florentine concert (the one in 1997 at the Teatro Tenda, as has been recalled several times), but also for the awareness of witnessing a perfect entertainment machine

Williams, who recently released the album "Britpop," didn't just sing along to his hits — though "Rock DJ," "Feel" and "Angels" were greeted by stadium chants — but played the part of the absolute star performer, even wearing a hot pink faux fur coat to perform.

His setlist, fluid and unpredictable, ranged from dance catchphrases to more intimate moments, demonstrating how the artist knows how to manage the rhythm of an evening with the precision of an orchestra conductor, alternating the cover of "My Way" with songs like "Better Man" without ever losing the thread of dialogue with the audience.

The wait for The Cure: a setlist of new songs and timeless classics

If Saturday had been a riot of pop energy, on Sunday the mood changed radically, just as expected from a band that has made the contrast between apparent lightness and lyrical depth its flag.

The Cure, the only Italian date of their tour, took the stage around 21:30, giving a setlist that satisfied the fans of the first hour without neglecting the latest recording efforts.

And it was precisely the presence of songs such as "Alone", taken from the acclaimed "Songs of a Lost World", that anchored the evening to a very lively artistic present, albeit filtered through the lens of their gothic imagery.

The incursion into the darkest atmospheres of "Shake Dog Shake" coexisted perfectly with the joyful explosion – if we can speak of joy in this context – of "Just Like Heaven", creating a continuous emotional flow that gave no respite

Details of the news and organization: what worked at the Visarno Arena

From a logistical point of view, the organizational machine of Firenze Rocks has withstood the impact of the huge influx, although there is no shortage – as always in these cases – of minor inconveniences related to the queues for water supplies.

The police guarded the area without any particular criticality, limiting themselves to managing vehicular traffic at night; no episode of criminal relevance was recorded inside the arena, demonstrating how a predominantly adult audience (that of the Cure) and a more heterogeneous one (that of Robbie) were able to coexist with the spaces of the event

The closing of the three-day event therefore reiterated, if it were needed, that Florence remains a fundamental square for major live events, capable of attracting spectators from all over Europe while maintaining an acceptable safety rate despite the full capacity

The analysis of the two performances: pop theater vs. rock introspection

Comparing the two headline performances is almost mandatory, given their proximity in time, yet opposite in substance.

Williams has staked everything on spectacularization: his songs, often rearranged in a symphonic or dance key, served to create a single large collective party, where the individual is lost in the mass that sings "Let Me Entertain You" at the top of their lungs.

The Cure, on the other hand, worked by subtraction: bare lights, fixed shots on the musicians, no gratuitous virtuosity.

Their strength was the patience to build long tensions, as in the hypnotic ten minutes of "From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea", and then dissolve them in an immediate refrain. If the first closed with a firework, the second left the audience with the feeling of having witnessed a ritual, especially during the double closing with the encores loaded with "Prayers for Rain" and the definitive "Boys Don't Cry

A Visarno Arena packed with over twenty thousand spectators welcomed last night the return to Italy of Robbie Williams, the absolute protagonist of the second day of Firenze Rocks. After the explosive opening of the festival entrusted to Lenny Kravitz, the Florentine Saturday was transformed into a gigantic pop party led by one of the most charismatic and unpredictable entertainers of the last thirty years. The British artist confirmed his deep bond with the Italian public, offering a show full of energy and unforgettable moments.

A mix of energy, irony and great successes

Punctual at 9:30 pm, between spectacular lights and the enthusiasm of an audience across age and background, the British superstar ex Take That kicked off a show built with the usual mix of energy, irony, self-irony and direct involvement of the audience. A concert that confirmed how Williams continues to possess an almost unique ability to transform every performance into an ongoing dialogue with his fans. The set kicked off with iconic tracks, followed by an impromptu medley that included generational hits such as Blur's "Song 2," the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army," and Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer," sparking a gigantic chorus among those in attendance.

The concert continued with a roundup of hits that have marked his career: "Rock DJ", "Love My Life", the recent single "Pretty Face", "Better Man", "Sexed Up", "Candy"; then "Millennium", "Come Undone", "Kids", "She's the One"; finally the final triptych with "My Way", "Feel" and "Angels", with thousands of people who sang every word of the symbolic song of Williams' career, closing the evening under the summer sky of Florence.

The openings and the continuation of the festival

Opening the evening, before the highly anticipated Robbie Williams show, were the emerging Florentines Ejent, followed by the London-based Mystery Jets and the talented singer-songwriter KT Tunstall. The Firenze Rocks festival, which confirms itself as an event of international appeal, will continue in the coming days with the presence of other big names in music, including the supergroup The Cure.

The vibrant atmosphere of the Visarno Arena has once again demonstrated the event's ability to attract a vast and passionate audience, offering a musical experience that knows how to skillfully balance the presence of established artists with the discovery of new and promising proposals on the music scene.

Robbie Williams' performance at Firenze Rocks undoubtedly represented one of the culminating and most anticipated moments of the entire event. His performance reaffirmed his status as a complete entertainer, capable of establishing an authentic and deep dialogue with the audience, constantly renewing his repertoire while maintaining his unmistakable pop roots. An event that left a mark, confirming the magic of pop and the contagious energy of a timeless artist.

Post thanks to Robbie Williams - The Unforgettable Concert

Could Pretty Face be next? 💃"

At last night's show in Florence, Robbie added Spies alongside Rocket, meaning that two songs from Britpop are now part of the setlist. It's still not quite what many fans were hoping for from a tour carrying the album's name, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Now things get interesting.

There's evidence that before the Firenze Rocks show, Robbie and the band soundchecked Pretty Face. Why is that exciting? Because that's exactly how Spies started last year. It was first rehearsed during soundchecks before making its live debut at Berlin's Waldbühne.

Could history be about to repeat itself?

🎶" What do you think? Was Pretty Face just a soundcheck... or a hint of what's to come? 👀" And, if Robbie adds one more Britpop song to the setlist, which one should it
