A song about a breakup’s messy aftermath, “21” opens bluntly with the line: “I missed your 21st birthday.” Another song about finding it hard to move on revolves around the simple admission, “I miss you, I’m sorry.” Abrams’ swift incisions are particularly notable given that her father is director J.J. Abrams, whose television series Lost boasted such ingeniously convoluted plotlines. Born in 1999, the Los Angeles native grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and Elliott Smith, but it wasn’t until she discovered Phoebe Bridgers, at age 13, that she began writing her own songs. She wrote “minor”—about a crush who lived too far away for her to visit before curfew—at age 17. “It was the first time that I’d written a song where I felt like I wasn’t trying to emulate someone else’s sound,” she tells Apple Music. Even Abrams’ early singles display a wisdom beyond her years. Released when she was 20, “21” revolves around the devastating line, “You’ll be the love of my life when I was young”—an elegant example of her knack for turning an idea as simple as “young love” into a complex meditation on life’s changes. “Looking back is unattractive to me,” she acknowledges, yet while preparing her first long-form statement—2020’s minor—she realized she needed to reflect to move forward. “Thinking about what that meant and how the songs needed to exist together,” she says, the experience of writing “minor” as a teen never went away. “It was always in the back of my head. I didn’t want to run away from it.” - Apple MusicTop 100 Chart History2023 72 Everywhere, Everything (Noah Kahan & Gracie Abrams)2024 81 I miss you, I'm sorry -1-2024 67 Risk -1-2024 31 Close To You -2-2024 37 us. "Caroline," the viral hit that helped the singer/songwriter escalate from indie status to a major label while he was still in his teens, relies on cinematic vistas and rolling harmonies as much as his dramatic vocals. By the time he released the EP In Another Life in 2023, Sombr was collaborating with Tony Berg -- a producer known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers and Michael Penn -- and opening up his music in ways he continued to explore on the 2024 single "In Your Arms." - Apple MusicTop 100 Chart History2025 07 back to friends -NAS-2025 04 undressed -NAS-2025 37 we never dated -NAS-0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 2 x Top 10 | 2 x Top 20 | 3 x Top 40 | 3 x Top 100Social Media sombr
June 27Jun 27 Two new entries to the Top 40 so far, will there be another? By the way, I'm listening to this chart live and recording it to CD-R from my FM tuner.. sorry to get too tech savvy!
June 27Jun 27 Oh love the new Sombr! Crazy he's popular enough to debut top 40 with a newbie, most tiktok stars cannotthis is really good...
June 27Jun 27 Author Cops & Robbers was pretty decent actually, had a good energy to it!Really impressive for sombr to get a top 40 debut, hope this is just the start for we never dated!
June 27Jun 27 This isn’t quite as good as “Back To Friends” or “Undressed”, but that is a high bar and it’s still a really strong 3rd hit.
June 27Jun 27 Prefer his higher charting songs, but this is OK. Why does the "I can't make you love me" section of this remind me of Tame Impala's 'Let It Happen' though

June 27Jun 27 kinda reminds me of somethingnot as good as Back to friends but up there with Undressed

Her sugary yet wistful pop ripples with old-school samples and styles ranging from UK dance to R&B to pop-punk, making her a versatile artist who already counts Ice Spice, Troye Sivan, Skrillex, Mura Masa, and Kaytranada among her collaborators. Before she became a pop phenomenon, the London-based singer-songwriter and producer (born in 2001 in Bath, England) spent her free time sharing on social media the songs she’d made while studying at university. Clips of early singles like 2021’s “Pain,” “Break It Off,” and “Just for me” went viral and hit the UK Singles Chart in the lead-up to her debut mixtape, to hell with it, later that year. Her 2023 single with Ice Spice, “Boy’s a liar, Pt. 2,” exploded internationally, marking her first Top 10 hit. PinkPantheress followed it with a feature on the Barbie soundtrack and her official debut LP, Heaven Knows. - Apple MusicTop 100 Chart History2021 35 Pain -2-2021 73 Passion -3-2021 74 Break It Off -1-2021 27 Just for me -4-2021 85 I must apologise -5-2022 71 bbycakes (Mura Masa, Lil Uzi Vert & PinkPantheress feat. June 27Jun 27 Pleased that PinkPantheress has achieved a second top 40 from this fabulous, sample-fest of a mixtape *.*I finally checked out the music video for 'Illegal' yesterday and it was pretty cool and on brand. The animated sections in it feel very throwback!
