'He is firing on all cylinders and there’s no doubt this single will go straight to No1'

not that sure about that... considering how others like Ed have underperformed recently...

It wouldn't massively surprise me to be honest, there seems to be a lot of goodwill around him since his last Glastonbury appearance and documentary about his struggles.

his debut was amazing

his sophomore was non-descriptive, and that's being generous

so not sure anymore, he would need a big uplift in quality

+ the success of the singles from album 2 was all down to selling 30K physical that costed 99p + free shipping

Quite honestly I'm amazed you can even tell the difference!

I know I'm in the minority here but I really like Someone You Loved

I even know the lyrics by heart and think they're really good and the whole idea of the song,

the whole "I was getting used to being someone you loved' but then you dumped me...

and from the debut also I also liked Grace, Bruises, Hold me while you wait, Before you go

they were not as good as Someone You Loved but they were decent...

but then album 2... he got 3 #1s with Forget me, Pointless, and Wish you the Best

I know cos I'm looking at his wiki page, but I can't, for the heck of it, recall how any of those 3 goes

and couldn't sing them to save my life

so I'd say album 2 is pretty forgettable as I have totally forgotten about the songs :D literally

Honestly dont know what to expect chart wise , especially with a few release that didn't debut as high as expected, either way Glastonbury is good promo

And he’s performing it at Glastonbury? Should be a big contender for #1 next week

Lewis is pretty chart savvy so I suspect there may be some tactics to push for #1 when if it ends up like Pointless. But he is one of those who has goodwill in his favour and Glastonbury could be a big way of commencing a new era.

It’s the perfect time. Manchild declining. Ordinary on ACR and nothing else doing big numbers

An new Lewis Capaldi song to listen to or be waterboarded, I know what I would prefer.

chill x

Can't imagine we'll get anything much different to the first two albums but I'm interested to hear what he's come up with after stepping away for a while! I'm probably in a boat by myself in thinking the second album was actually a lot better than the first, oops.

It's a strong melody and vocal, albeit not really my thing on the whole. Sounds like a big radio hit so I'm sure it will catch on. It has the same power and passion as the stuff from his debut that was missing a bit from his second album imo (with some similarity to Hoobastank's The Reason in the chorus melody).
