Thursday at 17:301 day Summer Of 69 finishing ahead of Comfortably Numb is gross. Sad to lose Comfortably Numb and Perfect Day before the top 10, both all time classics. (I do also like the BBC version of Perfect Day and knew it before the original. I remember the cover version having a strange gestation - it first appeared as an advert for BBC Music, then a couple of weeks later was suddenly a massive-selling charity single!)
Thursday at 17:311 day Didn't realise there was an 8 minute version of Let It Happen, will need to check that out

Cole's "No Role Modelz", though it almost charted around the time of the band's 2023 Glastonbury performance. It was never released as a single. The phrase "mardy bum" is Yorkshire slang for someone sulky. Like "A-Punk" it was used in The Inbetweeners.
Thursday at 20:541 day Author Sorry for the delay in getting results out- these delays will continue over the next couple days unfortunately... Thoughts on 15-11In My Life- as mentioned earlier my favourite Beatles album is Rubber Soul and I have good memories attached to the songs on it, "In My Life" included. Oddly I prefer early Beatles to their more experimental stuff but "In My Life" scored less from me than a song from that period of the band!Changes- I need to do a proper listen through of Bowie's back catalogue, I'm not all that familiar with his work! I've enjoyed all the songs I've heard from him, including this. Shout out to the Butterfly Boucher cover from Shrek 2 featuring Bowie which is also really good 😄Psycho Killer- always loved this song, one of the few tracks I can play on bass. There was a point in my life where I was obsessed with this and even managed to include it in my GCSE English exam! Let It Happen- was only introduced to Tame Impala last year by a friend, took me a while to warm up to his tracks but I enjoy them for the most part. This is a weird case where I feel the radio edit is too short and the full song is too long! I really don't like the CD skip part but otherwise really enjoy thisMardy Bum- unlike "A-Punk" the Inbetweeners association hasn't ruined this song for me! The lyrics are really cute, would love if the Arctics could make more songs like this. Again I wouldn't have thought this was the second biggest song to miss the top 100 before doing the research.
Thursday at 20:561 day I have a soft spot for Mardy Bum because it was the first Arctic Monkeys song I ever heard. It was during the MySpace era and before they had had any formal releases. MP3 Demos were also passed from hand to hand and then given out at their concerts so that everyone already knew all the songs. It eventually led to their debut singles and especially album releases having massive opening sales. That’s all my favourite 4 gone, sadly none made the top 10 but the remaining songs are all really good so not too disappointed.
Thursday at 21:131 day Ouch at two of my top 3 getting knocked out back to back - All hopes on The Chain now

Your pace of results has still been quite fast I’d say (brilliant job as always of course!)Oops at me being a low scorer for “Mardy Bum”: I love the Arctics but that one’s a bit more throwaway for me. I prefer the more atmospheric tracks like “I Wanna Be Yours”, “505” or “There’d Better Be A Mirrorball” from their more recent output.Great result for “Let It Happen” - what an epic.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway 😁

Might increase the anticipation?😆Whatever you decide, it’s been brilliant so far, thanks for all your hard work

It was written for the 1980 film of the same name starring Jane Fonda and Dolly herself, and was the first of her two US number ones. It would later be used as the theme to a sitcom of the same name starring Dolly's younger sister Rachel Parton George, and in the musical adaption of the film from 2008. Sheena Easton's own song "9 To 5" which reached number 3 in the UK (and would also go on to be a US number one) was retitled "Morning Train" in the US to avoid confusion with Dolly's single. Sheena's single is yet to be certified in the digital era.

Glad to see my personal favourite, Across The Universe, made it in!I’m useless because I’ve been a Buzzjack member for almost a year now and still haven’t ventured far from this little corner (UK Chart Forum) into all the other areas, so I’ve been missing out on stuff like this. I’ve seen mentions, in threads, of personal charts (is anyone allowed to start a thread, could I put my own lists in there?), and a Buzzjack Song Contest which also sound interesting. I need to get out more obviously😆.

An album track from 1977's Rumours, this song is the only track on the album to be written by all members of the band: the chain definitely wasn't broken despite the conflict between them at the time. The song was a staple of the band's shows and was notably used in 2017's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, but is best known in the UK as the theme of the BBC's coverage of Formula One between 1978 and 1996, and again between 2009 and 2015. The track charted for the first time in 2009 when the BBC announced they had regained rights to cover F1 and were using the song again. It peaked this year despite being on ACR, thanks to very strong streaming of the band's back catalogue, and it is still in the top 100 as of posting! It will very likely make 2025's year-end list. Wilson's quest for perfection and dissatisfaction with his bandmates' vocals made this track the longest to complete on the album. Mike Love didn't receive a writing credit until 1994 when he sued the group for credits on 35 of their songs. It peaked at number 8 on the US chart. It charted in the UK for the first time in 1990 when it was released to promote the greatest hits album Summer Dreams.

The song was originally going to be about Petty and his wife but changed the song following the death of her uncle Jonathan and John Lennon. The track didn't chart in the UK until 2021, apparently thanks to its use in a John Lewis advert.

17 hours ago17 hr I don't really have strong opinions about 'Edge Of Seventeen' but 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' is classic Beach Boys and well deserving of a place in the top ten!
