Regarding NOW 123 - I would LOVE Zara to appear with Midnight Sun and also with Stateside. All her singles deserve an appearance really

We did have Lush Life on Now 93 and as I said before if any of the old songs don’t appear, then they’re obviously ignoring the old songs and focusing on new songs. In my opinion, they should only include the old songs that haven’t appeared before. Tom Odell single handily ruined Now 113 with his reappearance

Perhaps they’re scared to announce it because of your scathing iTunes reviews.

It’s like you completely ignored everything I had to say. It’s wild that I was told this by someone in the music industry and you’re just like “no” who probably has no experience in the field whatsoev

Personally I was glad that Tom Odell appeared on Now 113, Another Love is a great song and I actually heard it played more in 2022 than in 2013.

I’d love for Just The Way You Are to appear on Now 123 seeing as it missed Now 53. If they include it, I wonder if it will be the original version or the Mall Grab remix? I reckon it will be the latter

I did some research on the blank tracks for NOW Yearbook Extra 1985-1989 via the nowmusicwiki.com website and found these:

Alison Moyet - Ordinary Girl

Arcadia - The Promise

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Secret

The Darling Buds - Hit the Ground

Paul McCartney - This One

Sting - Love is the Seventh Wave

Sade - Nothing Can Come Between Us

Suzanne Vega - Small Blue Thing

Dexys Midnight Runners - Because of You

The Pasadenas - Riding on a Train

Four Tops feat. Smokey Robinson - Indestructible

Laura Branigan - Shattered Glass

Ray Parker Jr. - I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone

Mica Paris and Will Downing - Where is the Love

The Mission - Wasteland

King - Won't You Hold My Hand Now

Transvision Vamp - The Only One

Kim Wilde - Say You Really Want Me

Debbie Gibson - Lost in Your Eyes

Whitney Houston - Where Do Broken Hearts Go

You should probably update that post, since I did some valiant research on those missing tracks. All I did was search the artists' name, only to find certain songs (which has the album featured which is currently undisplayed) assuming that they're going to appear on the album.

Also, I hope Yearbook 1975 gets announced as the next yearbook after this one...

Are those artist names all confirmed by Now's usual mole? I really hope it's This One by Paul McCartney, great track. It's taken a very long time for The Colourfield to appear, I was hoping that would be on Yearbook 1985 or the Extra.

Wouldn't say I'm loving the tracklist, which I had a feeling would be the case after the main Final Chapter release was so good, and we knew there were still lots of licensing issues.

Lots of Vault fare on here imo, nevertheless it's a good mop up to get the other PSB songs, The Colourfield, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Hothouse Flowers, plus Labi Siffre, who I'd have expected to see a lot earlier with that track.

Monkey should’ve opened the album instead of Kissing A Fool and save the latter for vault 1988. As for Sting, Love Is The Seventh Wave should’ve been saved for vault 1985 and have Moon Over Bourbon Street on here instead. If they’d have included Moon Over Bourbon Street on here, then they could’ve had Love Is The Seventh Wave on vault 1985 and We Work The Black Seams on vault 1986 but Moon Over Bourbon Street is the Sting song now looking likely to appear on vault 1986. As for Pet Shop Boys, they should’ve put Opportunities instead of Rent because they had the opportunity to put Rent on extra 1987 but they chose not to

I would argue that Kissing A Fool is by a country mile the better remembered/more highly regarded track, despite the slightly lower peak, so I think it's a fair choice (76m streams vs 12m on Spotify or 28m YouTube views vs just 1m). Also it no doubt sold about the same at the time as it was charting throughout December.

What are your key highlights of the album?

I guess now we wait for "The Definitive 1980's Yearbook" covering the whole decade, though I can't see many good songs being left to mop up from tbh.

No doubt we will get a best of Yearbook 80s featuring about seven songs from each year and 10 they couldn't license before.

Michael Jackson and David Bowie as a minimum who defined the decade.

Key moments is having songs that I don’t have or haven’t heard. I don’t think there was any need for two Cure songs though. Hot Hot Hot should’ve been saved for vault 1988 and as for George Michael, there was room for both Monkey and Kissing A Fool on disc 2 of both 1988 yearbooks. Shame ABC aren’t on there as Be Near Me went top 30

No. We’ve had enough late 70s lately. I’d rather they did early 70s for a change than rush the late 70s as we haven’t had early 70s since May 2024. I’m hoping 1972 is next and for the 90s, I hope 1995 or 1996 is next

But you still haven't said what your actual highlights are? Rather than saying what should / shouldn't have been included, what do you actually like??? :)

Heaven In My Hands appearing as it’s one of their best tunes and rarely appears on compilations. After tomorrow’s announcement, we should go 2 weeks without an announcement before they announce Now 123 on 12th March which in my opinion, they should move the spring Nows to the last Friday in March rather than the first Friday in April
