Times were completely different when Virgin were in charge. Charts were a lot less static, there were more hits to choose from and people actually bought compilations.

I just hope NOW last long enough to finish the Yearbooks.

It’s truly sad to see Now 123 sell only 6000~ copies in its first week.

If NOW Towers are not taking feedback, or our voting with our wallets seriously enough, then I’m worried for the future of the NOW franchise.

Do you think the vinyls are propping them up?

I think they are. But if they want people to buy their numbered albums again like in the early days, they need to ADD MORE SONGS, otherwise they'll just find it worthless and won't spend a dime on them anymore. If 124 is similar to or worse than 123, then I don't know what I'll be doing...

Maybe they could send their mailing list a survey asking their fans for feedback and suggestions? Just a thought.

That would be vital, but with such poor customer service, I doubt they'll do it.

The way they’re releasing the yearbooks at the moment, the final individual yearbooks and extras should be due in October 2027 and when you add the final chapters, they should be complete by September 2028. I hope once the yearbooks are done, they move onto the 00s. If they did, they’d need 2 yearbooks and extras for the year 2000 alone considering how many hits there were that year

I’ve only just seen the Now Yearbook 99 tracklist, it’s looking pretty good.

I’m guessing it’s the radio edit of Honey To The Bee and not the 5min album version one?

It will probably be the radio edit. Nowadays, they usually choose radio edits over album versions

Thanks, yeah it makes sense and it’s also the version most people would be familiar with. It’s also better time wise.

I only prefer them using radio edits if they’re doing it to make room for more songs but if not, just use the album version

With Olivia Rodrigo, I hope The Cure gets saved for Now 125 along with Stupid Song and for Drop Dead only to appear on Now 124

I reckon there won’t be an announcement this week and Now 124 will be announced either next week or the week after. As there’s already 4 weeks in a row (26th June to 17th July) for new Nows, I reckon they’ll leave 24th July empty and release Now 124 on 31st July but it would make sense to release 124 on 24th like Now 114 was released on 14th April 2023

Oh, yes, if it hadn't been for Yearbook Extra 1972 being pushed back by two weeks, there would've been an available gap.

The radio edits are the hit versions most of the time so I would prefer whatever the hit/charting main version was.

Honey To The Bee is indeed the radio edit as just saw the tracklist on iTunes. Still annoying that Shania isn't looking to be the UK version though.

It is the album version. It says so on the vinyl edition and I prefer the UK version

I looked at some of the Now compilations that were released after George Michael died and looking at the tracklist for Now 100 Hits 80s, they put Wham! on track 2 behind Queen. They should’ve carried on doing that as the best way to compromise both artists on the same compilation rather than only including one of them or at least have Freddie open disc 1 and George open disc 2. They did this on Now 80s Party 2017 too; Queen opened disc 1 and Wham! opened disc 2. If they’d have carried on this way, Freddie/Queen would’ve been represented better on the yearbooks and Last Christmas would’ve appeared on one of the 1984 related yearbooks. Then again, Jenny Fisher compiled both those spin-offs and if she stayed on to compile the yearbooks, she probably would’ve done just that
