Official Charts Report

Chappell Roan is flying ahead on this week’s Official Chart: First Look as her new single The Subway sets course for a Number 1 debut.

If it can hold on to its lead until Friday - currently 6,000 chart units ahead of reigning Number 1 Golden by HUNTR/X - it will mark Roan’s second UK Number 1 single.

After entering the Top 10 for the first time on Friday, Disco Lines & Tinashe’s No Broke Boys could claim a new peak of Number 5 this week.

The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack claimed Number 1 last week, and this week could land three places in the Top 10, including a new peak for Soda Pop by the Saja Boys (9).

Outside the Top 10, Olivia Dean could enjoy a rebound back up the Top 20 on Friday as Nice To Each Other (14) and Sam Fender collab Rein Me In (15) both lift two on the First Look.

Finally, American singer-songwriter Sombr could score his third Top 20 single this week with 12 to 12, up 11 places midweek (20).

The Official Chart: First Look offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.

The Subway is excellent, reminds me a bit of the Cranberries (a big compliment) and the way it builds to the end gives goosebumps!

Album 2 is looking very promising, loved all three songs since album one including The Giver (I seem to be one of the few). Loads of potential now coming to fruition!

  1. Golden

  2. The Subway

  3. Daisies

  4. Dior

  8. Your idol

  9. Ordinary

Quietest week in ages for new albums although Cian Ducrot, Roger Waters and Renee Rapp could all get into the top ten I expect Oasis will return to number one

No First Look tonight as already mentioned, due to Dance Weekend. I won't be listening in on the off chance they do a brief countdown, so if anyone hears anything, feel free to let us know! I will be keeping an eye on the OCC website for any article that may or may not surface, though.

Even though there’s no update, at least there’s pick of the pops to listen to on radio 2 despite it being double 80s instead of one from each decade and I reckon they shouldn’t go to the 70s for pick of the pops when you have sounds of the 70s right before that

Wow, go Chappell! Pretty much got it sewn up I'd say, if she's that far ahead?

Chappell will also be the first artist to have multiple number 1 singles in 2025

Sounds like Your Idol is at number 10 anyway. Happy for Chappell!
