  • Think I’ll name the incorrect assumption that the Spotify #1 is an official #1 contender The Dean Fallacy from now on.

I don't get why OCC resets Coldplay song every time and never any Fleetwood Mac songs?

  • yes mixed feeling about those resets, yay for Rihanna but the others were unnecessary and it has a huge detrimental effect as Fredo and Perrie missed the top 40 cos of that especially Coldplay, but th

Yeah, it does seem impossible for any album to achieve more than one week at #1 given that most of them just aren't streaming heavy.

OCC website, Alex Warren is #09 on Top Album.

He's #05 in sales.

Hm hm ? What's the deal ?

It was #9 in the chart update, it's definitely #5 officially today (and it's correct on the website too).

I’m curious, what made the Stay Kid CDs ineligible. And the report suggests this isn’t their first time having ineligible formats? What’s the story here?

A lot of K-pop album releases come packaged with randomised photocards from a collectable set (presumably encouraging some level of excessive multibuying from superfans) which is against the OCC rules, and is a rule they seem to actually consistently enforce which is a rarity from them of course. That's part of the reason K-pop albums always do so much better in the US.

But I still don't get it, did Coldplay get reset at the label's request or did they have a 25% increase?

cos last week Yellow was at #80, that's like 6K sales maybe and now they're 13K/so 6.5K sales on ACR, which doesn't look like enough of an increase?
