Has anyone ever looked into the disproportionate performance of album track 1s in the streaming age?

The OCC can't just say that Sabrina has got in the bag already with their midweek article.

First the song bland gets to number 1 (shouldn't have made the top 10) hogs the number 1 and now a kiddies song can't be moved from the top spot. Not many decent number ones these year apart from subway and manchild.

It's not a kids song, it's a pretty marketable (if dated) pop song that happens to be from a movie suitable for family viewing (that I know has fans of all ages).

Very thankful that the actual "kiddie songs" that are popular today (Cocomelon) have not done anything on the main chart! I yearn for the days where Bob The Builder was the top choice for kids music...

I have seen a trailer for the movie definitely a young kiddies film that I might have been interested in if I was between the ages of 7 to 13, I have listened to a bit of the song and it does sound young aswell, it isn't the best but alot better than bland I will give it that.

Well im a 34 year old man and I reckon its one of the better animated films of recent years , actually watched it twice not a lot of films make me wanna do that, oh and WISL, golden and HID are 3 of my most played songs of the last few months 🤷

Again, it's a movie that appeals to a wide age range (I've seen the whole film, not just a trailer), including kids but I am one of many adults I know who have watched and enjoyed it. Not saying you have to like the song or watch the film but I don't think it's accurate to write off Golden as a kids song at all. It's no more of a kids song than something like Black Magic by Little Mix in my view.

I haven’t seen the movie but I’m considering watching it as I love the songs and want to see the context of them in the movie. I’ve seen myself belting out golden in the car as it’s so catchy so definitely not just associated with “young kiddies”

I’ve been travelling all summer and always see full families watching it not just the kids on airplanes and airports sometimes also young adults

I even sorta watched the movie cos these 2 girls around 20 years of age were watching it on the seat next to me On the plane at top volume and without headphones 😆
