Some artists hang around for decades, started following Madonna as a kid and took 30 years for her first flop era.

Even though you act like it is... This is not the Ed Sheeran Facebook page etc etc

Hang on lets be realistic here his streaming is terrible but wait for the numbers in the chart update today. I don't think anyone can be calling this a flop era it's just 2025 and acts that have been around a while with no viral hit just don't do well on streaming. You only have to look at the top 50 to see old iconic songs from years ago making numerous appearances and viral moments / huge global artists of the moment like Sabrina. A lot of the chart is the same artists (Olivia Dean / Sabrina / Sombr) with multiple songs because they've had viral moments.

Look at Justin Bieber he released Swag 2 and literally no songs entered - Who would have thought that? He's another one that had most of the top 20 on album release day...

Is it a flop era? He's had 2 massive long running top 5 hits leading up the album and a couple of other top 40 songs. His album is also likely to go to Number 1.

It would be insane if anyone thought he would be able to sustain the level of success he had 5-10 years ago... and no other artist has really. But then the success of getting basically every song from an album into the top 15 olfficialy isn't something any other artist had done before either.

Saying that, yeah it probably is surprising more of the album hasn't made the top 200 on Spotify, or hung around for longer than a day, but then the charts are an absolute mess these days. Be interesting to see what the album sales are like.

If this is being labeled a flop, I'm sure most would wish their faves would flop as hard

That isn’t aimed at anyone who’s commented so far - just before we end up with pages and pages of more or less the same comments over and over about one artist!

Ed was absolutely gigantic worldwide even with '=' era few years ago, and now he has only one song (Camera) charting in top ten in two countries on a Saturday after the album release. I think it is a sizable downfall all things considered.

1.We haven't seen any midweek sales yet for starters so where's the proof its flopped 🤣

2. Apples and oranges if streaming existed 5 years into Madonna era would you be saying the same

3. Forgot only your allowed to say nice things about your faves without attacking people about it being "a fan page"

4. Its already got 2 of the biggest songs of the year just because cameras doing shit 🤣

5. Streams arnt the only measure of success 🤣

Can 'Manchild' HURRY TF UP and go to ACR to make room for 'House Tour' please!

Pleased to see Sabrina STILL with a strong showing of her album 3 weeks after release...!

Going back to this... would the Taylor collab on 3rd October potentially prevent 'House Tour' from entering/staying in the chart if things stand as they are at the moment, due to the 3 track rule?

So for example if 'Manchild' goes to ACR in a couple of weeks (think I read it's on 1 week of decline as of this week, right?) and 'House Tour' manages to overtake it to become her 3rd chart entry, I presume the Taylor collab won't hinder that and Sabrina will likely have 4 tracks top 40?

That would be another entry for her as Taylor's the lead artist on it - so yeah, 4 tracks!

If he wants to use the Madonna example this could be just Ed’s 1991-97 era, then she had Frozen…..

It would count as 1 of Taylors 3 as shes the lead, it would more depend on if its one of her top 3 streaming tracks to chart

Possibly but I dont think its gonna happen, id say Madame X is the only fair comparison as thats her only album released in the streaming era

I just don't see a song with Sabrina and Taylor on not charting. Yeah its at the end of the album but sometimes a last song can do well and it has two major fan bases flocking to it and its the title track

I could be wrong but 90 percent of the time at least on week one most album are played in order and appart from previous singles its usually songs within the first half that chart first week at least

Would not be entirely unprecedented for the final song on the album to chart, 'Jimmy Cooks' was the last song on Drake's 'Honestly, Nevermind' but was his highest charter in week 1 for example.

Spotify

01 [01] Olivia Dean - Man I Need (596,155)

03 [05] sombr - back to friends (333,959)

04 [03] Sabrina Carpenter - Tears (325,316)

05 [09] sombr - 12 to 12 (317,883)

08 [08] Olivia Dean - Nice to Each Other

10 [06] Disco Lines & Tinashe - No Broke Boys

31 [31] Olivia Dean - Dive

37 [34] Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance

45 [40] Rihanna - Breakin' Dishes

49 [41] Ed Sheeran - Sapphire

67 [72] Tyler, The Creator - Sugar on my Tongue

58 [62] Justin Bieber - YUKON

86 [98] Billy Joel - Piano Man

97 [177] Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over

129 [103] Kehlani - Folded

150 [120] Doja Cat - Jealous Type

185 [145] Ed Sheeran - Camera

Hopefully Gagz can start climbing again after today.

Also can't believe somebody was saying in the chart show thread that last week was '12 to 12's final chance to get top 10!

Sombr has been growing ever since his VMA performance. Just broke into the billboard top ten albums. I except him to keep going up and up.
