Shane's version of 'I'm Your Man', that Children In Need was really getting into the Alfie/Kat storyline when Alf disrupted Kat and Andy's wedding. In the music video there was no Jessie Wallace.

  • That weird moment where you think that Last Dreamer is a huge Oasis fan. I swear my mind just imploded a bit.

There are a couple of other songs I'd rank lower. By no means do I enjoy Changes but I don't really hate it either, I just find the terrible vocals quite hilarious in that the label and artists saw fi

5 Mis-Teeq - Scandalous

Easily the best thing they did in my view.

4 Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love

They went off the boil quickly after seeming like they were going to be megastars. This remains a great song.

3 Electric Six - Danger! High Voltage

I love this - it’s up with the very quirkiest Top 3 hits.

2 Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River

His first 3 hits all reached #2 and were all brilliant, but this was the very best.

1 Dido - White Flag

I loved the “No Angel” album but it didn’t have a single that stood out as her signature song - in fact my favourite track is the album track “Take My Hand” which won Bop Idol. But this lead from “Life For Rent” has everything and is definitely peak Dido.

And just because the list includes a few of my favourite hits of the year I’m going to rank the #3s too tomorrow!

There may have been a few great #3s in 2003, but 2004 was an even better year for them - despite (or maybe because of?) the presence of 'Insania'!

It's like Nickleback from the year before, they also started off with a great song!

The poor #3s:

25 The Cheeky Girls - Hooray Hooray (It's A Cheeky Holiday)

24 Westlife - Tonight / Miss You Nights

23 Ronan Keating - The Long Goodbye

22 The Cheeky Girls - Take Your Shoes Off

21 Blazin' Squad - We Just Be Dreamin'

'White Flag' is a great pick of top #2, what a beauty wub I've come to appreciate both that and also the quirky 'Danger! High Voltage' more and more over the years.

Also love quite a few others in the list but especially 'Cry Me A River', 'Scandalous', 'Sweet Dreams My LA Ex' and 'No Good Advice'. That Mis-Teeq song was one of the first in my record collection, as I went to a charity shop on the day I got my first record player and picked up both that and 'Movin' Too Fast' by Artful Dodger on 12" vinyl.

The OK:

20 Delta Goodrem - Born To Try

19 Atomic Kitten - If You Come To Me

18 Gareth Gates - Sunshine

17 Pink Featuring William Orbit - Feel Good Time

16 David Sneddon - Don't Let Go

I think 'Take Your Shoes Off' is quite alright by them, although admittedly not something I'd really go out of my way to listen to.

'Sunshine' is his best for me (in admittedly a very small pool of one or two)

'Feel Good Time's is underrated, although I noticed it's currently being used in an advert.

The pretty good:

15 Girls Aloud - Life Got Cold

14 Robbie Williams - Something Beautiful

13 Sean Paul - Like Glue

12 Wayne Wonder - No Letting Go

11 Busta Rhymes And Mariah Carey Featuring The Flipmode Squad - I Know What You Want

And I thought the #1s of the year were poor!

Can't argue with your top 5 #2s although I don't care that much for Scandalous, think the other 4 would make up mine too, with either No Good Advice or the Darkness Christmas offering being the other.

In the main rank, it's all in the nice enough section at the moment. I'd probably rank BEPs higher but it's not something I've listened to for ages, and I did go on to love Ignition (Remix) :|

Like Glue my pick of the #3s so far

5 Richard x Vs Liberty X - Being Nobody

This is how to do a cover - strong production

4 Christina Aguilera - Fighter

What a powerhouse of a track.

Fast Food Rockers that high up 😮😮😄

I largely agree with the list of number twos, I'd put dannii a bit higher and Rock Your Body would be top 5 instead of Misteeq, as would Justin's first single if it peaked a bit later and The Darkness would be lower. Top 3, though, spot on - I wouldn't even change the order, and they were all personal chart-toppers. Fabulous.

I love the fact that all this Top 3 climbed to their peak, which was still very rare in 2003 and sometimes was the mark of a song being much better than the market had expected.

3 Jamelia - Superstar

What a way to resurrect a career.

2 50 Cent - In Da Club

One of the most infectious and cleverest songs of its kind ever.
