Her success is something I never understood but kudos to her clap

Also I can’t believe that I haven’t heard yet any of the songs from the new album…maybe it just happens for me to be in places where they don’t play her, but still I’m surprised considering she’s the biggest star etc. etc.

And I’m not trying to make comparisons, but last time something of this caliber happened it was Adele ‘Hello’ and I remember hearing it everywhere etc. etc.

Not sure if I’m not understanding what you mean or not, but the albums only been out for 5 days, I’m sure the main single will get a lot of plays between now and Xmas.

Anyone want to guess the last time the Top 3 of the singles chart were all new entries?

Probably in the download era, something like 2010 or 2011?

Was it that week in the 2000s when the whole top 5 was new?

EDIT: No, ignore that, it must have happened more recently than that!

The first Friday chart in July 2015 had a top 3 that was all new to the top 40, but I guess Jim means completely new.

It definitely happened in August 2011 with “Don’t Go”, “Heaven” and “Moves Like Jagger”. That’s a starter for 10 for somebody to improve on. 😝

November 2014 there was an all new Top 3 with “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, “Real Love” and “Wrapped Up”.

It dropped to 40 in Wednesdays update maybe we will get lucky 🤞

..but I do think that in hindsight (don't call me on that) The Life of a Showgirl might be re-reviewed very negatively. For now, it's getting mixed to positive reviews - very much a Be Here Now situation in review territory.

Still Elizabeth Taylor top 3. How close is it between that and the 4th most popular id be interested to know, its so boring that its the first three on the album charting.

If it is on the chart on Friday, then Jack is sure to give it a play.

I don’t feel much love for this album at all really, it seems more like these publications are afraid to poke the bear with Taylor and the Swifties!

WD Julian - yes the last time it happened, downloads were still dominant, and there hadn't yet been a #1 which wasn't also #1 on pure sales!
