Oh wow, I did not expect that at all. Thank you to everyone for the votes and the lovely comments last night. Commiserations to Scene, it's a great track too and it was SO CLOSE! Didn't I win by 1 poi

I don't do double checking the scores for other song contests (I only do it for BJSC because I keep my own spreadsheet for that, I don't have the same for any other contests) so we'll just trust this one x

Well done Lewis, gorgeous winner there <3 I did actually move it up and Visage down a little after my relisten so apols to Scene for that screwing you out of a win kink but also a great entry so happy to see it on the podium as well, I'm sure your time will come, for now welcome to the 'peaked at #2 in Club Bizarre' club which I am also in x

Thanks for the hosting Doctor B, has been a fun read and made some good discoveries as ever x #justice4nazar

Awwww so so SO close!!

Congrats Lewis on your win and thanks for a fab contest Doctor!

Super happy with runner-up position! My highest placing and points in a Club Bizarre ever - and my highest position across all the other forum contests! I can’t remember how I stumbled across Moon Over Moscow but it grabbed me immediately so was an easy choice to send.

Ahhh congrats Lewis 🤩 always a satisfying moment when your favourite wins a contest!! Delighted that Scene's Visage pick, aka my bronze medal, finished runner-up too.

As for my silver medal... a shame that Rich's choice 'Inde' finished outside the top 10, but thank you for such a good discovery <3

IAMDDB bottom 3?! Shenanigans!! Deserved so much better.

Bottom 5... isn't the best, but I did wonder if my song might get a bit lost in the pack when I did a full listen through. Ah well, thanks again to all of those who did enjoy it! ❤️

Thank you Doctor B for a splendid job in charge <3 loved the theme and your hosting flair. 😻

Wow I don’t think I’ve seen a Top 10 separated by 14 points in any contest!

Pleased to be in that Top 10, congratulations Lewis and thanks Doctor B for a great theme!

Congrats Lewis! I gave the top 2 3 and 4 in my votes so I could've actually changed that on a different day! The winner is great though, I remember a similar good song by Sun-EL appearing in one of the contests I hosted, and this Visage song was a great song to add to the growing knowledge of their discography that I'm now undertaking. Great to see TYGAPAW, Derrick May and dazexgd in the top 10 too. Was hoping that Arca may get there too and the host entry deserved better too.

Pleased to pick up a few mid-high points at the end there (and ooh a 12 from uhsting, yay *.) and I'll take 13th, this year has not been a vintage one for me in Club Bizarre so after the last few results, I'm counting not bottom 10 as a good result x

Thanks for hosting Doctor Blind, excellent results thread and a very high quality edition of this x

My string of bottom half finishes in CB continues! (and that means I have managed top, bottom, second to top and second to bottom in one year) cheer

Just realising that even from 6th place I theoretically could still have won with just one more vote cheeseblock I see this is the lowest scoring Club Bizarre winner to date, not a knock against it but just goes to show how spread out the voting was this time around.

Yay, well done Lewis, not very often my 12 pointer wins Club Bizarre, and it was my easy favourite too. I don't mind mine coming a distant second in the Afro House stakes, yours definitely sounded like the bigger hit.

Quite glad though with 13th after the slow start (same position as in BJSC...unlucky for some?). Thanks very much to the voters, including Cow for the second 12 at the end and Julian for another 10! Six voters but two golds and two silvers is unusual, I didn't think it would be that polarising?

And thanks Doctor Blind for great presentation/theme/hosting as ever, so close to Christmas too!

Congratulations Lewis cheer and well done Scene on second, yours was a brilliant discovery.

Realise this is my 9th top 5 in a song contest this year (with a 6th and 7th place besides) without any wins. All very close here though, 8 points away from both 1st and 11th! Thanks to Addy for a bronze and The Snake for a silver in those last few votes *.*

Enjoyed the presentation with the detailed background and stats - thanks Dr B for hosting!

glad everyone else had fun at least

Jeez, I did very poorly this time too, it's my worst ever position in CB... and this sounds weird maybe but I almost wish I would've been last instead of you as it doesn't seem to affect me badly at all (I've come last a small handful of times in other contests). Although when I DNQ'd in the last BJSC I was definitely very disappointed, it did kinda sting... I remember the moment I found out, I was in the train station 😆 But still, it didn't stay with me for long. And maybe it could be the same for you? idk tho xo

It's weird but I think it's partly because even though I tend to be quite engaged following along and posting, I also feel a sense of detachment from these contests in a way. It's interesting 🤔

Congratulations Lewis, it's great to see my 12 pointer winning this contest.

Thanks to everyone who gave points to 'Monster Jam'.

And thanks to Doctor Blind for hosting and the excellent results presentation.

Ooh congrats Lewis, great winner there! Gave it four points and enjoyed it quite a lot. Dan's entry was very intriguing too, and the Visage track was 14th in my rankings.

Thanks to DrB for all your hosting magic! 🪄

Congratulations to the winner and to everyone who is satisfied with their placements. To be completely honest, I didn’t really like the songs. Most of them felt either too ordinary and amateurish to me, or totally incomprehensible — like some higher level of consciousness and abstraction that just isn’t for me. 🤣

I guess I could compare it to certain heavier types of metal music that simply aren’t listenable to everyone, when the vocalist growls throughout the entire song and it just blasts the same fast tempo straight into your brain for 3+ minutes. That’s how I feel about some electronic music as well, like Michael’s song. I just don’t get it. 😄

But in the end, it was fun to follow the results and take part, so maybe my musical awareness will expand with new experiences. 😊

I would also like to thank the Doctor Blind for the kind words and for the warmth and hospitality shown to me, as well as everyone who voted for Arca. 💙

This description instantly reminded me of the music one of my in-person friends listens to, with screamed lyrics such as 'people equal sh!t' and the like. 😅 It goes with his whole aesthetic and nihilistic viewpoints but yeah, I can only take that in small doses when it gets so extreme tbh.

But I do enjoy highly abstract electronic music that seems to require a higher level of consciousness! 😅 hehe

Slipknot reference. 😆

Ah, is that what it is, makes sense 😆

More precisely, for me, electronic music falls into two categories: the kind that moves me deeply and carries me into another world, like a drug, and the kind I can only enjoy in combination with something else, haha. 😆 I’ve never actually tried the second kind. And of course, this doesn’t mean that others experience it the same way, please don’t misunderstand me. Maybe I’m talking a bit too much. 😅
