Sorry, but the early evening is the only convenient time for me to do the results. There is about half an hour between each post for anyone who is online at that time to comment.

Apologies, I didn't mean that to come across as a criticism and I appreciate all the hard work you put in to this thread ❤️

Keep up the hard work and post when you can 🙌🙌 its an interesting follow whatever pace you post it 🙌

Going out in the latest results for me:

That was an brain fade on my part there with including this in the #8's rate well at least I know to include this if there is an #9's rate next year.

Quite surprised to see this go out, thought it would have had an outside chance of making the semi-finals, one that I probably don't appreciate at the time when it came out but in recent years this is become an great tune to listen to, didn't know until an few months ago that this was an Alanis Morrisette cover, this would have been a great #1 instead of the dreary 'Bleeding Love' by Leona Lewis.

Thank you @King Rollo ! I love this countdown, and I actually enjoy seeing several results come out shortly after each other. Keep them coming!

DJ Dado - X-Files

Heart - All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You

Herbie Hancock - Rockit

Josh Wink - Higher State Of Consciousness

Herbie Hancock had been releasing music since 1962 but this was his first top 10 hit. Godley & Creme's innovative video won five MTV Video Music awards. Josh Wink's Higher State Of Consciousness has another go after the remix featured in the number 7 poll last year but once again fails to qualify for the semi-finals. A version of the X-Files theme also appearing here means that the only non instrumental on 29 points is Heart's third and final top 10 single.

Angel City - Do You Know (I Go Crazy)

Bowling For Soup - Girl All The Bad Guys Want

Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Goin' Down

Ariana Grande - Breathin'

The Human League - Human

George Michael - Flawless (Go To The City)

Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl

Sugababes - About A Girl

The Selecter - On My Radio

Yesterday, I mentioned Bucks Fizz having their first top 10 hit for three years. In the same year, 1986, the Human League did the same thing with Human which was also a US number 1 single. Unlike Bucks Fizz, they did manage one more top 10 hit nine years later. Ariana Grande loses the last of her three songs while Sugababes lose the second out of their three. From 1979, On My Radio was the only top 10 single for 2 Tone group The Selecter.

Rockit is good, this 1983 was probably an early inspiration for the likes of Pump Up The Volume and other 1987-8 house music. Goes so well with the video - its between it, Sledgehammer, Close To The Edit, Hyperactive and Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait for the quirkiest video of the 80s.

Herbie Hancock's other hit Autodrive is even more house-y and ahead of time with the piano.

Josh Wink's tune is very good too, an inspiration for Scooter and also Ne-Yo's track Beautiful Monster.

Definitely Heart's other #8 song 'These Dreams' is better than the rather cheesy 'All I Wanna Do...'!

Angel City - Do You Know is basically Robert Miles' track Children with a vocal so gave it a few points. Should have credited Robert Miles though!

The Bowling For Soup song is good and fun!

I prefer George Michael's 'Flawless (Go To The City)' to the track it samples by The Ones.

Sugababes 'About A Girl' has aged better than their other hit from the album 'Get Sexy' but I preferred the latter at the time.

I can see why people might say 'All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You' is cheesy but honestly I'm a sucker for a bit of soft rock and Heart are one of my all time favourite rock bands so it's a shame to see this go out so early. And the story that the lyrics tell could be made into a cheesy movie D oh well, at least there's still another Heart song to come.

Only 2 more of these threads to go for the top 10. :( I am sad I missed voting in the other threads.

The Jesus And Mary Chain - April Skies

New Order - Crystal

Sharam - PATT (Party All The Time)

From 2001, this was the first original New Order release since 1993. The Killers got their name from the band who play in the song's video and Brandon Flowers has subsequently performed Crystal on stage with New Order as well as Bernard Sumner performing it with The Killers. From 1987, April Skies is the highest peaking single for The Jesus And Mary Chain. Iran is represented here by Sharam with his interpolation of the Eddie Murphy song.

Vocally , It was a cover version of a song by Michelle Gayle. Both were great tracks.

PATT is good; one of the many looped house hits remixing 80s tracks that occurred in the mid 00s. It is surprisingly slow for house, more like 80s R&B dance like the original song. The original Eddie Murphy track is surprisingly good as well!

I've no idea which version of Higher State Of Consciousness is which but will always give them points as any version I've heard is great!

Taio Cruz featuring Kylie Minogue and Travie McCoy - Higher

The Divine Comedy - National Express

JLS featuring Tinie Tempah - Eyes Wide Shut

The Lumineers - Ho Hey

The Lovin' Spoonful - Summer In The City

National Express is the only top 10 hit for the quirky Northern Irish group. Also here is a Billboard chart topper from 1966, Summer In The City. Kylie Minogue is a regular on these polls and makes her first appearance this year as the featured singer on Taio Cruz's single.

Double The Captain Of Her Heart

You have to listen to the extended version so beautiful ❤️

Sadly I missed the voting

'National Express' is very Frank Sinatra production/vocal wise. Not lyrically though!

'Eyes Wide Shut' is JLS' best track probably! I remember liking it at the time.

'Higher' by Taio + Kylie + Travie is good too.

'Ho Hey' was so annoying for me as a UK chart watcher it stayed in the chart so long and I never liked the song really in the first place.
